Ipsy October 2018 Glam Bag Unboxing and First Impressions
Howdy, y’all! Today, we will be going over the contents of October’s Ipsy Glam Bag! You can find my September Ipsy Glam Bag here. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag (sign up here).October’s Glam Bag comes with 5 products in this red pouch with a lace mask design.
- Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Medium – Deluxe Sample Sized – (Buy here)
I’m fairly certain I’m the only person who doesn’t love this concealer 🙈 It comes in a wide range of colors and the formula does offer full longlasting coverage. However, it is so drying and really emphasizes the little bumps under my eyes, which my favorite Colourpop No Filter Concealers never do. Still, I credit Ipsy for including a generous sample size of this cult fav.
- Wander Beauty Lift Off Purifying and Brightening Peel Off Mask – Deluxe Sample Sized – (Buy here)
After about 20 minutes on the face, this mask dries down to a shimmery berry finish, which is cute and different. As I peeled off the mask, I was impressed at how it also removed impurities, particularly around my nose area, where my pores are the largest. So gross, yet satisfying! It leaves skin feeling clean, without over drying.
-
SLMISSGLAM L50 Lilac Sparkle Eye Blender Brush – Full Sized – (Buy here)
This brand makes the cutest brushes. Rainbows, glitter, rhinestones? Gimme, gimme! This brush has very soft synthetic bristles and the tapered shape works great for precisely blending eyeshadow in the crease.
- Aurora Intensively Precise Eyeliner in Espresso – Full Sized – Retail Price $8 – (Buy here)
This felt tip pen is pigmented, despite having a very watery base and glides on the lids easily. However, it has zero lasting power. I always look for longevity in my eyeliners, so this is a pass for me.
-
Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Plum Lace – Deluxe Sized – (Buy here)
These plum shades are pretty and the packaging is adorable. However, I know I will never personally reach for a travel sized shadow compact, so I’d much rather keep it new and pristine to pass it along to my girlfriend who will get way more mileage out of this.
Overall Rating: My feelings about the September’s Glam Bag are “meh” so I’m giving this month a rating of 6/10 stars, based on my first impressions. There was a decent range of makeup products, but the selection just didn’t excite me. I really hope Ipsy steps up their game next month. The only products I’m really happy with are the makeup brush and peel off mask.
What did you receive in your October Ipsy Glam Bag? Which products are you most excited to test out?

Mary Dee
