2NDesign Korean Skincare Review: Cleansing Oil, Peeling Gel, Lip Balm

The sleek and minimalistic packaging is an added bonus. 2NDESIGN was kind enough to gift me their bestselling products, which include the First Cleansing Oil Pure & Fresh, Springy Peeling Gel Tone Up Boost and First Lip Balm Restore & Soothing. Today, I wanted to share with you my review of these goodies.

A rich, buttery balm blankets lips with long-lasting hydration to instantly diminish discomfort and dryness. Provides soothing nourishment and protection to keep your lips feeling soft and smooth (yesstyle.com).I appreciate that this pretty jar comes with a handy spatula, though I’m totally guilty of applying it more quickly with my fingers instead. The formula feels ultra moisturizing, while being non-sticky or tacky. There is no flavor or scent as far as I can detect. This currently lives on my nightstand as my lip sleeping mask to ensure I wake up with smooth, hydrated lips. You can never have enough lip balms in my book, so I’m happy to add another to the collection. Overall rating: 10/10 stars (Buy here).

2NDesign First Cleansing Oil Pure and Fresh – Retail Price $23.90 – Buy here

A mild yet powerful cleansing oil that removes all traces of makeup in one single step without leaving a greasy feeling. Enriched with naturally-derived oils extracted from sunflower, jojoba seed, macadamia nut, rosehip, and bergamot to moisturize, revitalize and nourish your skin (yesstyle.com). My preferred method of makeup removal, and the first step in my double cleansing process, has always been a cotton pad soaked with micellar water. I have always been put off by cleansing oils because the concept of rubbing my fingers against a face full of makeup honestly makes me cringe. I feel I need to disclose that factor as this cleansing oil already has my prejudice going against it from the start. That said, I went in on this cleansing oil with a full face of makeup and all my apprehensions anyways. The application process…is not a pretty look, but I powered through! As directed, I massaged 3-4 pumps onto dry skin in circular motions for around 30 seconds to dissolve makeup, emulsified with a little water, and then gently massaged for another 30 seconds before rinsing thoroughly with water. I am impressed with how it rinsed clean, while still leaving my skin feeling ultra soft and hydrated. Of course, I still need to go in with a second step cleanser to fully remove leftover stubborn waterproof mascara and liner, but I am genuinely impressed that this does not leave a dreaded oily film over my eyes or greasy feel. I have not been completely won over by cleansing oils, but I have to admit, this is my absolute favorite one I’ve tried to date. Overall rating: 9/10 stars (Buy here).

A gentle exfoliating gel that infused with naturally-derived exfoliator cellulose to helps remove dead skin cells for a brighter, dewy complexion. Contains trehalose, allantoin, and extracts of centella asiatica, gold, green tea, and sea buckthorns to soothe, condition, and revitalize your skin (yesstyle.com).I have been enjoying peeling gels so much lately, as they offer gentle exfoliation without the stinging or irritation that can sometimes accompany chemical exfoliants. This thick gel, mildly scented with a clean fragrance, spreads out quickly and starts pilling almost immediately as you’re working it into the skin. It’s so grossly satisfying to see and feel the sloughing of dead skin cells. You wash it off after about one minute, and you’re left with baby soft and smooth skin. I love using this about 2 to 3 times a week, particularly at night, as I feel it creates a smooth, clean canvas to absorb all my night time serums. I wake up with noticeably brighter, clearer skin.
