Abib Essences Korean Skincare Review
Abib is a Korean Skincare brand that pursues perfection and purity in their products, while using minimal and high quality ingredients. They were kind enough to send me not one, not two, but four of their Essences which I’ve been incorporating into my skincare routine! When one essence isn’t cutting it, why not go for four? Today, I wanted to share a quick review of each one so you can decide for yourself which one might best suit your needs!
As a reference, my skin type is very dry, with hyperpigmentation leftover from acne scars. Improving texture and tone while maintaining hydration has always been my biggest skin concerns.
Abib Heartleaf Essence Calming Pump – Retail Price $24 – Buy here(Amazon)
This essence targets acne-prone and sensitive skin. It contains 85% Heartleaf Extract, or Houttuynia Cordata Extract, to help soothe irritated skin and control excessive oil. This has a true gel texture that turns into a watery consistency once worked into the skin. It is the fastest absorbing of the four and feels incredibly lightweight with a very faint citrus scent. I would recommend this for those with normal to combination/oily skin. Buy here(Amazon)
Abib Okjuk Essence Nutrition Pump – Retail Price $24 – Buy here(Amazon)
This essence targets dull and dry skin. It contains 55% Okjuk Extract to rejuvenate and firm skin. This is without a doubt the most hydrating essence I’ve tried to date. It has a creamy borderline moisturizer texture that feels richly nourishing. The scent-free formula instantly cools, soothes, and hydrates my dry skin. I can see myself reaching for this daily during the desert dry winter months. Buy here(Amazon)
Abib Yuja Essence Vitalizing Pump – Retail Price $24 – Buy here(Amazon)
This essence targets dull and tired skin. It contains 80% Yuja Peel Extract with Vitamin C to help revitalize and brighten your skin tone. This was the essence I was most excited to try, because anything that promises to brighten, gimme gimme. The slightly milky gel has the most delicious kumquat scent and gentle hydrating formula. It absorbs quickly with zero stinging or irritation. The citrus extracts give my complexion an overall healthy glow, though don’t expect dramatic lightening of hyperpigmentation here. For brightening dark spots, I highly recommend checking out the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Serum (review here). Buy here(Amazon)
Abib Hemp Seed Essence Activating Pump – Retail Price $24 – Buy here(Amazon)
This essence targets dry, dehydrated skin. This contains Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, and Hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate and nourish skin. While this essence has a gel-like texture, this packs a punch in delivering hydration due to the Hemp Seed Oil. In terms of providing moisturization, I would say this comes right in second to the Okjuk Nutrition Essence. It also has a lovely herbal scent I find incredibly soothing and therapeutic. The Abib brand was totally new to me prior to reviewing these essences, but I’m really enjoying their aesthetic and appreciate that each essence caters to different skin needs. I will definitely be keeping an eye on their new products in the future!
Have you tried any products from Abib? Which Essence is calling your name?
