April Monthly Empties and Reviews
Today, I’m sharing with you my Product Empties from the month of April! You can find my Product Empties from February here. Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.
MAKEUP
Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub: This bubblegum scented sugar lip scrub smelled so yummy and did a great job of exfoliating and hydrating the lips. I enjoyed the product while it lasted, but won’t be repurchasing since I prefer the convenience of a lip scrub in a lipstick form as opposed to a jar.
It Cosmetics CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream: This CC Cream from It Cosmetics totally lived up to the hype. It felt as lightweight as a tinted moisturizer, while providing the coverage of a satin foundation. The shade range is not the greatest, but Tan matched me spot on. I would definitely invest in a full size at some point.
ELF Liquid Liner: This liquid liner is only $2 and it is fabulous. The staying power is pretty good, though not entirely waterproof. However, it works amazingly well for creating that crisp, sharp wing. I already have a backup waiting to go.
Jordana Easyliner Retractable Pencil in Rock n Rose: The formula of these lipliners are so creamy, pigmented, and glides on like a dream. The twist top is very convenient for travel because you don’t need to worry about packing a pencil sharpener. Rock n’ Rose is my go-to nude lipliner and I have backups upon backups of these.
Wet n Wild Micro Brow Pencil: This is essentially the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz at a fraction of the price. It is so, so, SO good and I highly recommend everyone giving it a try. I also have a backup in my arsenal ready to go.
Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara: I like this mascara more than the original False Lash Effect Mascara in the green tube, but less than the Sculpted Volume in the purple tube. Still, you can’t really go wrong with any of the Lash Princess Mascaras. I have very straight lashes and the curled brush really gets to the root of the lashes to give it an extra boost. The formula is jet-black and quickly builds volume and length. The doll-like packaging is adorable and you can’t beat the price.
SKINCARE
Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream: The travel friendly packaging is super cute and I love the herbal spa-like scent of the Sulwhasoo products. However, I did not see a huge difference in my overall skin texture and tone after using this moisturizer. For the high price tag, I will not be repurchasing.
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser: This is my holy grail face wash. I use this every night with my Clarisonic to cleanse my face after I’ve removed my makeup with some micellar water. This is an ultra gentle cleanser that takes off any residual makeup, but doesn’t strip the skin of moisture. This was a travel size I used up on my trip, but I already have a supply of jumbo bottles waiting.
Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule: This serum has a slightly sticky consistency, similar to the CosRX Snail Essence, if you’re familiar with that milky texture. It feels lightweight, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t irritate my skin. I’m sad to report I haven’t seen much of a difference in whitening to garner a repurchase.
Mamonde Hydrating Beauty Water: This beauty water smells heavenly, just like fresh cut roses 😍 It worked well as a toner, removing any impurities leftover after cleansing. If this was ever on sale at Ulta, I would consider purchasing it again, but I prefer a more hydrating toner.
Ariul 7 Days Avocado Mask: This left my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated, but this was the worst fitting sheet mask I’ve ever tried 😂 I could not move around the house during the treatment because the mask obscured my vision. I never had this issue before so I’m not looking forward to finishing the 20 of these I have left.
Soo Ae Purifying Black Charcoal Mask: This mask, on the other hand, fitted just fine, thank you 😉 The treatment was very cooling and left my skin feeling moisturized afterwards. I enjoyed the sheet mask, but likely won’t be repurchasing.
HAIRCARE
Batiste Dry Shampoo: This is my holy grail dry shampoo. It soaks up excess oil in between shampoos, refreshes the hair, and doesn’t leave a gray cast on dark hair if you rub it in really well. I have backups upon backups on these.
BODYCARE
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion: This gentle lotion absorbs quickly and feels so lightweight on the skin. I am used to thicker body butters and moisturizers, but I was pleasantly impressed with how hydrating this was.
Have you tried any of these products? How did they work for you?
XO,
Mary Dee
