August Monthly Empties and Reviews

Happy Friday, y’all!  Today is the last day of the month so you know what that means.  Time to go over August’s Product Empties!  You can find my Product Empties from July here.  Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.

MAKEUP

ELF Lip Exfoliator in Pink Grapefruit: This is an ELF Holy Grail product I keep repurchasing over and over again.  I love the convenient lipstick bullet packaging of the lip scrub as opposed to standard jars where there is the hassle of scooping the product out with your fingers.  The citrusy Pink Grapefruit scent is so refreshing and perks me up everytime I use it ☺️

It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara: I have so many samples of this mascara I don’t think I’ll ever need to buy a full size.  Luckily, I quite enjoy the pitch-black formula.  The medium-sized brush reaches the small lashes in the inner corners and quickly builds length and volume with each coat.

Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara Waterproof: This mascara has a short bristled brush that works amazing for grabbing all the little lashes, building up volume and length, and detangling lashes to ensure there are no clumps.  On myself, I found this is the BEST dry waterproof formula for holding a curl all day long.  I already have backups of this beloved mascara.

Jesse’s Girl Liquid Eyeliner: This eyeliner has a very fine felt tip which makes for a sharp wing, and the formula is pitch black and dries semi-matte.  This has just dried out over time so I’m letting it go.  I’ve found felt tip eyeliners dry out way too quickly so I will not be repurchasing anymore, in general.

SKINCARE

Caudalie Concentrated Brightening Essence:  Essences are a crucial part of my skincare routine, so I was stoked to try this popular one from Caudalie.  I received this sample in August’s Ipsy but unfortunately, it doesn’t contain enough product for me to see a major improvement in my overall skin condition.  That’s not to say this is a bad product, it just wasn’t enough for me to warrant investing in a full sized.

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks:  I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed these eye masks.  The gold foil is bougie AF, but the eye masks themselves felt amazing on the skin.  It was so cooling, refreshing, and left my skin plump and hydrated.  Gold Eye Masks are so extra… but I’m here for it 😉

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream:  If I didn’t have wrinkles to begin with, and I don’t have wrinkles after I’ve finished an entire anti-wrinkle cream, does that mean it worked?!  How do I know?!  These kindof questions keep me up at night 😂 This eye cream did the job of moisturizing my eye area, but do I see enough of a difference to warrant the price?  Not really.

Structure FX Neck Cream:  This cream had a lovely scent and was very moisturizing, but after finishing the entire bottle, I have not seen any difference in the stretch marks on my neck.  I tried this product from Amazon as part of a promotion at a discount, but I would not purchase this again at full price.

BODYCARE

Mario Badescu Hydrating Hand Cream: This travel-sized hand cream came as a gift with purchase from the Mario Basdescu website.  The lotion felt very lightweight and absorbed quickly, so there’s no stickiness left behind.  My hands felt soft after application, but I don’t think this is groundbreaking enough to warrant a full sized purchase.

Philosophy Fresh Cream Body Lotion: I absolutely adore the Fresh Cream Perfume so of course, I got the matching body lotion.  I’m obsessed with this delicious warm, vanilla scent.  This lotion is on the thicker side, which I love for nighttime.  It leaves my skin feeling ultra hydrated and soft.  Girl, I already got a replacement bottle in my arsenal 😉

St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion: Good grief, I go through a lot of lotion 😅 I love how easy and convenient it is to spray this all over in the morning, quickly rub it in, and then be on your merry way.  This has a delicious warm shea butter scent and feels so lightweight on, perfect for the hot summer months.  I would recommend and repurchase this.

HAIRCARE

Herbal Essences Set Me Up Hairspray: These little bottles are so convenient for travel.  This liquid hairspray smelled nice, had a strong hold, and did a good job of taming flyaways and securing my updos.  However, I just prefer an aerosol formula for hairspray, so I will not be repurchasing

L’Oreal Elvive Color Vibrancy Repair & Protect Balm: I adore the L’Oreal EverPure Shampoos and Conditioners, so I was disappointed that this Elvive Color Vibrancy line just did not work for my hair.  I applied this mask after rinsing out my shampoo, and it did not untangle my hair or leave it feeling moisturized afterwards.  Unfortunately, this was a hard pass.
