August Monthly Empties and Reviews
Today, I’m sharing with you my Product Empties from the month of August! You can find my Product Empties from June here. Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.
MAKEUP
Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner in Bare to Comment: These are one of my favorite retractable lipliners from drugstore to high end. They come in a wide range of colors and the formula is so creamy and long-lasting. I already have a backup ready to go.
L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine in Glossy Fawn: Y’all, I can’t tell you how rare it is that I actually finish an entire lippie, so you KNOW I loved this lipstick! I adore the cute packaging, creamy moisturizing formula, and high shine finish. If you are looking for an easy, fool-proof lip product you can apply on the go, I highly recommend giving these lippies a try. You can find an entire blogpost review dedicated to these lippies here.
SKINCARE
Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water: I saturate a cotton round with this magical elixir to remove all my makeup, from foundation to waterproof mascara. It takes off everything and doesn’t dry out or irritate my skin whatsoever. This is a holy grail item that I will continue to repurchase.
Papa Recipe Eggplant Cleansing Foam: This cleansing foam is so thick it takes some elbow grease to squeeze it out of the little tube. The formula is very creamy and does not lather up, but rinses clean without stripping the skin of moisture. I would not recommend this for makeup removal, but it worked fine as a morning cleanser. This small bottle lasted me forever.
CosRX Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence: This serum has a slightly sticky consistency, similar to the CosRX Snail Essence, if you’re familiar with that milky texture. It feels lightweight, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t irritate my skin. I’m sad to report I haven’t seen much of a difference in whitening to garner a repurchase.
The Ordinary AHA BHA Peeling Solution: This has the smell and consistency of cranberry juice… that has gone bad, but I deal because I love the end results. There is a tingly, slight irritation upon application, but it disappears after the 3- 4 minute mark. After I rinse off the blood-like mask, my skin feels like buttah. I like using this once a week or whenever my skin needs an all-over restart. You can find my Ordinary Skincare review here.
Dilly Delight Real Egging Pack: Would you like a side of bacon with that? This is the most unique sleeping mask I’ve ever seen! You mix the egg yolk and whites to make your freshly scrambled sleeping mask I applied a pretty thick layer of this yummy scented sleeping mask before bedtime and woke up with very hydrated skin. I will definitely be using this again when my skin craves an extra dose of moisture. For innovation and kick butt packaging alone, this egg mask gets major brownie points.
Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment: This has a very strong earthy scent that quite frankly, smells like paint. The grey mixture doesn’t completely harden like I’d expect from a clay mask, but stays slightly tacky until I wash it off. I’m impressed with how soft and bright my skin looks afterwards.
HAIRCARE
Coolway Leave In Treatment: I didn’t enjoy this as a leave in conditioner as I felt it left my hair feeling sticky, no matter how much I adjusted the amount I used. However, I loved it as a hair protectant before I went swimming. It allowed me to rinse my hair without any tangles and protect from the damage of chlorine water.
Batiste Dry Shampoo: This is my holy grail dry shampoo. It soaks up excess oil in between shampoos, refreshes the hair, and doesn’t leave a gray cast on dark hair if you rub it in really well. I have backups upon backups on these.
Have you tried any of these products? How did they work for you?
XO,
Mary Dee
