Boxycharm August 2019 Unboxing and Review
Hi dolls! Today, I’m sharing with you my review of August’s Boxycharm! You can find my review on July’s Boxycharm here. Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month. What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price (sign up here).August’s theme is Totally and comes with 5 products.
- Becca Hydra Mist and Refresh Powder – $39 (Buy here)
An ultra-translucent setting powder that sets makeup for extended wear with a revitalizing, mist-like effect on skin (beccacosmetics.com). This is the most unique feeling loose powder I’ve ever tried. Upon application, there is a cooling/ wet sensation, like I had applied the powder with a damp beauty sponge… except I used a makeup brush. The powder is very finely milled and while it doesn’t provide any additional coverage, it sets my makeup beautifully for a natural satin finish.
- Wander Beauty Glow Ahead Illuminating Oil – $42 (Buy here)
Light diffusing optics deliver instant luminosity, while a potent blend of our signature beauty oils and antioxidants help brighten, moisturize, and improve the appearance of skin over time (wanderbeauty.com). I’ve been really enjoying everything I’ve tried from Wander Beauty lately, and I’m just as impressed with this face oil. This lightweight oil does not feel greasy on the skin whatsoever. Instead, it just adds an additional layer of moisture that doesn’t cause the makeup applied on top to slide around or break apart. I already know I’ll be reaching for this face oil more frequently in the winter months to come.
- Peach and Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum – $39 (Buy Here)
A revolutionary cocktail of peach extract, niacinamide, East Asian mountain yam, madecassoside, peptides, and hyaluronic acid help to hydrate, calm, brighten and firm skin (peachandlily.com). I’m so stoked I received this skin serum instead of the Tarte mascara. This skin serum came just at the right time as I recently ran out of my GlamGlow Serum (which came in a limited edition skincare Boxycharm). This serum has a clear, jelly consistency that absorbs quickly into the skin, while still providing ample hydration. I haven’t used it long enough to see long term results, but I’m really loving how moisturizing it is so far!
- Ace Beaute Glimmer Shadow Duo in Huckleberry and French Vanilla – $25 (Buy Here)
High pigmented soft shadows with a creamy texture specially designed for ultimate color pay-off. These shadows provide bold color in one swipe without fallout, creasing or fading (acebeaute.com). Is it just me or do these look identical to Colourpop Supershock Shadows? 🙊The pastel pink packaging and imprint is super cute. As for its formula, this has the same bouncy texture, pigmentation, and blendability. I love how easy these were for creating quick and simpler eyeshadow looks!
- Steve Laurant Lip Liner in Chic – $15 (Buy Here)
Our lip pencil is total magic. It smooths over your lip line for a seamless and flawless finish. Completely waterproof, so no transferring or bleeding all day long. (stevelaurant.com). This isn’t the creamiest wooden pencil I’ve tried to date, but it glides on well enough to stay put, instead of moving around throughout the day. The color is a flattering mauve pink that pairs beautifully with a nude pink lipstick.Makeup Look Using Products from August’s Boxycharm: Overall Rating: I am very happy with August’s Boxycharm so I’m giving it a rating of 10/10 stars. August’s box has a combined value of $160, which is a lot higher than previous boxes, if memory serves me right. This is one of the best boxes I have received to date! My favorite picks of the batch are Peach and Lily Glass Skin Serum and Becca Hydra Mist Powder.
Did you enjoy your Boxycharm? Which products are you most excited to test out?

Mary Dee
