Boxycharm February 2020 Unboxing and Review
Hi, y’all! Today, I’m sharing with you my review of February’s Boxycharm! You can find my review on February’s Boxycharm Premium here and January’s Base Boxycharm here. Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5 full-sized items for $25/month. Boxycharm Premium is a tier above the Base box, and provides 6-7 full-sized items for $35/month. You can subscribe to both the Premium and Base box simultaneously, and receive different items in each box. What I like about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the price (sign up here).February’s theme was Adore, and came with 5 products.
- Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation in Olive – $44 (Buy here)
The 24-hour, long-wearing formula balances coated pigments with water to deliver full-coverage with a natural finish. The breathable foundation instantly smooths the appearance of skin and covers the look of imperfections without clogging pores, while giving the skin all-day moisture (sephora.com). Trust me when I say, I wanted to love this foundation so badly! The bottle is tres chic in its minimalistic design, it comes with a handy pump, and the shade Olive matches my undertones beautifully. However, no matter how hydrating of a primer I use beforehand or how I switch up applications between a brush and beauty sponge, I just cannot get this foundation to work for me. It does provide full coverage, but the thick formula sits heavily on top of my skin, clings to my dry patches, and wears away quickly. Becca, I love you, but this foundation is a No-Go from me.
- Alamar Cosmetics Complexion Brush Trio – $36 (Buy here)
This three piece brush set is made of vegan, synthetic fibers. Perfect for creams and powders, these can be used for blush, bronzing or brightening (alamarcosmetics.com). Alamar Cosmetics is a smaller, indie brand that releases consistently high performance products. I was stoked to receive this complexion brush trio, as I’ve fallen in love with their eyeshadow and blush palettes in the past. These brushes are so soft and blend powder/cream highlighters and blushes beautifully!
- Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder – $22 (Buy Here)
Lock in makeup for long-lasting wear with Ciaté London’s Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder. Delicately coconut fragranced to take you back to the beach, this finely-milled and lightweight loose powder smooths over makeup for a crease-free, soft-focus finish with no flashback (us.ciatelondon.com). This finely milled translucent powder is great for baking your under eye concealer or setting your foundation all over. Is it my new holy grail powder? Nay, but it gets the job done. The yummy coconut scent is a bonus treat!
- First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads – $17 (Buy Here)
A daily treatment pad with lactic and glycolic acids to safely and effectively exfoliate, tone, and brighten (sephora.com). These Facial Radiance Pads are easily my favorite product from First Aid Beauty. The little cotton rounds are saturated with just the perfect amount of toner. The gentle, alcohol-free formula removes any residual impurities after my facial cleanser, leaves my skin feeling clean, but never drying or tight. I adore these!
- Evio Beauty Refreshing Cleansing Hemp Wipes – $10 (Buy Here)
Refreshing Cleansing Wipes from our Aurora collection are biodegradable and multi-tasking wipes made with hemp fibres to cleanse your skin and remove waterproof make-upwhile keeping your skin hydrated, reduce inflammation and avoid irritation (eviobeauty.com). Admittedly, I have not put these hemp wipes to the test as of yet. However, because of the travel friendly packaging, I fully intend to pack these with me on my upcoming cruise in April. I love the convenience of these handy wipes for quickly removing my makeup or even to refresh my skin throughout the day.Overall Rating: I was very satisfied with February’s Boxycharm so I’m giving it a rating of 10/10 stars. February’s box had a combined value of $129. Despite the Becca Foundation not working for me personally, I was still excited about my entire box, which comprised of mostly face products, as I requested. This was the first month where I was so happy with both the Boxycharm Base AND Premium. My favorite picks of the batch are the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads and the Alamar Complexion Brush Trio.
Did you enjoy your Boxycharm? Which products are you most excited to test out?

Mary Dee
