Boxycharm July 2017 Unboxing and First Impressions
Hiii dolls! Today, I’ll be reviewing the contents of July’s Boxycharm! You can find my review on last month’s Boxycharm here. Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month. What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price.
July’s theme is Cutie Pie and comes with 5 products.
- Blinc Electric Eyes Palette – $45 (blincinc.com)
This palette has richly-pigmented hues and sexy combinations designed for all eye colors and skin tones. Delight in long-wearing, crease-resistant, fade-resistant, buildable colors in textures ranging from velvety smooth mates to metallic sheens (excerpt). Right off the bat, I like the sleek, compact, and travel friendly packaging. These are all shimmery shadows so for a complete smokey eye look, you may need to pull in matte eyeshadow shades from another palette like I did. But Holy Toledo, these shades are absolutely STUNNING. Just look at that pigmentation! ? The formula is gorgeously metallic and so creamy, like buttaah. They pack such a punch as the pop of color in a halo eye look. I am obsessed with this palette ?
- Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Lock Diary – $6 (colourpop.com)
High pigmentation and a satin-matte finish in liquid lipstick form to keep your lips soft and comfy all day long (colourpop.com). Lock Diary is a lovely, deep fuschia shade, which I don’t already have in my collection. Score! The Hello Kitty cap is super cute and Satin Lip formula is pigmented, without being ultra drying. It will transfer if you eat or drink, but longlasting otherwise, and leaves a pretty stain behind. I will happily rock this throughout the summer months.
- BareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo – $32 (bareminerals.com)
This silky and ultra-fine combination of setting powder and finishing powder instantly vanishes on all skin tones. Enjoy an even, long lasting, natural looking, luminous complexion (excerpt). From my initial finger swatches, I was worried the super light Matte powder would leave a ghostly white cast on my skin, but I was relieved to see it completely blended into the skin without distorting my foundation shade? It does a decent job of setting my undereye concealer, but I didn’t feel it provided enough brightening power like my Wet n Wild Banana Powder (from the Contour Kit) or additional coverage like when baking with my RCMA No Color Powder (review here). On the other hand, the Glow powder is a beautiful, natural highlight that gives a gorgeous luminosity to the skin. It’s my favorite of the two.
- WinkyLux Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil – $12 (winkylux.com)
One brow pencil to rule them all! Simplify your brow game with this 2-step pencil. Its firm texture gives maximum control so anyone can be a brow boss (exerpt). This brow pencil has an angled tip that reminds me of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer. Once I got the hang of how to use it, the angled tip made it quick and easy to fill in the brows. The formula is creamier than the Brow Wiz, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on your preference. It didn’t bother me and I enjoyed the neutral pencil shade, which worked perfectly with my coloring.
- Project Beauty Spray. Set. Go. Makeup Setting Spray – $32 (myprojectbeauty.com)
Keep your makeup fresh all day long. Just Spray, Set, & Go! You’ve got this, gorgeous (exerpt). This setting spray has a vaguely fruity scent that kindof reminds me of Capri Sun. I didn’t see a huge difference in prolonging the longevity of my makeup, but it does melt powders into the skin, and leaves a dewy finish. I love the chic packaging, but I am not a fan of the spray pump at all. Even at 8-10 inches as instructed, the nozzle sprayed a stream at my face 🙁 The product works fine though, so I’ll be pouring this into one of my ELF Setting Mist bottles to continue using.
Overall Rating: I was completely satisfied with this month’s Boxycharm so I award it a rating of 10/10 stars. This has to be one of my favorite boxes of all time. Keep up the great work, Boxycharm! July’s box had a combined value of $127, far exceeding the $21 price tag. I just adored the product selection and high quality of each item. What I loved most about this month’s selection was that I could create an entire makeup look with all the items. If I had to choose, my favorite picks of the batch are the Blinc Electric Eyes Palette and the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip 😉
Did you enjoy your Boxycharm? Which products are you most excited to test out?
