Boxycharm March 2018 Unboxing and First Impressions
Howdy, y’all! Today, I’ll be reviewing the contents of March’s Boxycharm! You can find my review on February’s Boxycharm here. Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month. What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price.
March’s theme is Bae Cation and comes with 5 products.
- PUR x Boxycharm Eyeshadow Palette – $36 (Buy here)
This transitional palette can be used now, or later, to bring vibrancy back into your look. Our signature silky smooth ultra-mattes are paired with pretty pinks and a vibrant blue to lighten the mood. Plus, you can layer the shimmer shades for a duo chrome finish (excerpt). First impressions, this shade selection is stunning! It is actually even prettier in person. I love the mix of neutral mattes and shimmers with vibrant pops of vibrant color. I like the sleek packaging and that they included the mirror. These swatch beautifully and super pigmented on the fingers, but I’m actually let down by how they perform on the eyes. The formula of the shimmers lacked that metallic oomph and can apply chunky on the eyes. For example, I tried adding Alliance, the olive gold shade, in the center of the lid for a halo look and it applied almost patchy despite using both my fingers and a makeup brush. I don’t think this is a bad palette overall, but I don’t think the formula is standout.
- Butter London Double Decker Lashes Mascara – $20 (Buy here)
Get 200% thicker lashes in lashes in just one coat and a 314% increase in lash curl. The interlocking nylon fiber brush grass each individual lash to lengthen, curl, and multiply lashes from root to tip (excerpt). This mascara wand is on the larger side so I can only use it on my upper lashes, but I like this mascara way more than I expected to. It doesn’t curl my stubbornly straight lashes, but the drier formula quickly built volume to my wimpy lashes without weighing them down.
- South Mane Beauty Under Eye Gels – $10 (Buy Here)
Our new under eye gels are great for an easy mask without the clean up. They soften and moisturize to ensure that you look rested and refreshed (excerpt). I gave these a go one night as a facial treat, and they feel sooo nice on the skin 😍 The gel feels ultra soothing underneath the eyes, while adding some cooling moisture. The patches also cling onto the skin easily so you can still move around the house during your treatment. I am already looking forward to the next time I get to rock these again.
- The Vintage Cosmetic Company Smokey Eye Makeup Brush Set – $23.15 (Buy Here)
This brush set trio will enable to create a stunning smokey eye. Use your Shadow Brush to sweep a light, shimmery color over your lids. Pack a deeper colour onto the Angled Shadow Brush and work in to the creases of your eyelid and outer corners. The Smudger Brush can be used to bend the two shades together, or alternatively use an an even darker color to accentuate the crease and define your lash line (exerpt). These brushes are so soft, feel well made, and blend shadows beautifully on the lids. The cream packaging with the quotes is super cute. I’m always happy to add more eye brushes to the collection, so no complaints here.
- Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in Hush Blush – $29.99 (Buy here)
Make Them Blush powder blush awakens your complexion and provides a natural, glow flush to your cheeks. This silky-smooth formula is longwearing and highly pigmented. The buildable blush powder can be worn alone or paired for a multidimensional pop of color that will flatter any complexion (exerpt). This vintage-y gold packaging is super cute, but I am so impressed with this amazing blush formula. You have to dip your fingers into this blush to feel how creamy it is. The formula is smooth, buttery, pigmented, and blends like a dream. Hush Blush is a flattering mauvey pink shade that works with all eye looks. This has quickly become one of my favorite new blushes.Overall Rating: I am very satisfied with March’s Boxycharm so I’m giving it a rating of 9/10 stars. March’s box has a combined value of $119.14 , and I enjoyed the overall product selection. My favorite picks of the batch are the Pretty Vulgar Blush and South Mane Under Eye Gels.
Did you enjoy your Boxycharm? Which products are you most excited to test out?
