Boxycharm November 2017 Unboxing and First Impressions
Hi, everyone! Today, I’ll be reviewing the contents of November’s Boxycharm! You can find my review on last month’s Boxycharm here. Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month. What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price.
November’s theme is Sweater Weather and comes with 5 products.
- Luxie Beauty Quad Eye Travel Set – $32 (luxiebeauty.com)
Take your eye game on the go with this quad travel set created with handcrafted synthetic brushes (excerpt). l’ve always enjoyed the Luxie Brushes I’ve received in these monthly subscriptions. The duo fiber bristles are super soft, while the travel-sized eye brushes are perfect for taking on the go. I was able to use this entire set in conjunction with the Winky Lux Eyeshadow Palette for a complete eye look. The only other brush I had to pull in was a fluffy blender brush for buffing out the transition shade. Nevertheless, these performed very well.
- Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray – $31 (sephora.com)
A quick drying setting spray that sets makeup for all day wear and imparts instant, all-over illumination. It’s alcohol-free, so it’s not drying to the skin. Perfect for all skin tones and types (exerpt). I love the chic holographic packaging, generous sized bottle, and fine spray mister, but that’s about where the love ends. I have shaken this up really well before each application, and every single time, it looks like a unicorn threw up glitter all over my face 😅 If you are into that intense highlighter look, you might enjoy this. I am literally scared to use this again, and risk ruining my completed makeup look. The only way I would personally use this would be before foundation application for an understated glow or as body glitter for a special occasion. But to use this for a setting spray, no… just no. It’s a shame because I was so stoked to try this out.
- WinkyLux Kitten Palette – $25 (winkylux.com)
These ultra-soft shadows glide on like a dream. The universally flattering collection of shades makes this palette as lovable as a kitten. It features highly pigmented shadows in four finishes, holographic, matte, satin, and glitter (excerpt). I’m a dog person through and through, but how adorable is this cat packaging? I’m digging the unique shade selection and that they included a complimentary range of matte and shimmer shades for a complete eye look. The shadow formula is creamy, fairly pigmented, and has little fall out. Would I recommend this over my Colourpop Palettes? No, but they are nice and blended well on the eyes. My favorite shade is Holographic (first shade on the second row), which has a beautiful lavender and turquoise duochrome finish.
- Laqa & Co. Cloud Lips in Storm – $17 (laqaandco.com)
An airy matte lipstick that provides full coverage, but feels as light as a cloud. This highly pigmented lipstick has a matte finish for long-lasting fluffy, pouty lips that stay put (exerpt). I am obsessed with this ultra sleek and chic rose gold packaging! The color looked like a dark raisin shade in the tube, but was actually a beautiful berry on the lips, perfect for the colder months. The formula is very pigmented and opaque with a true matte finish. While it isn’t transfer-proof, it is long lasting. I recommend moisturizing before application as it does emphasize dry patches.
- KNC Beauty Collagen Lip Masks – $15 (kncbeauty.com)
Innovative jelly mask for your lips that hydrate, moisturize and plump your pout with natural ingredients (exerpt). I was so excited to test these lip masks out after seeing them on social media. The jelly texture was very cooling to the lips, but I had a difficult time keeping these on while walking around the house. I recommend wearing these while you’re relaxing on the couch watching TV as opposed to moving around as I did. Sadly, despite its cooling sensation, once I removed the mask, I did not see any difference in my lip’s overall volume or moisture 🙁
Overall Rating: I was pretty happy with this month’s Boxycharm so I award it a rating of 9/10 stars. November’s box had a combined value of $120, far exceeding the $21 price tag. I was fairly satisfied with the overall product selection and performance, with the exception of the Cover FX Illuminating Spray. My favorite picks of the batch are the Winkylux Kitten Palette and Laqa and Co. Cloud Lips.
Did you enjoy your Boxycharm? Which products are you most excited to test out?
XO,
Mary Dee

I feel like out of all subscription boxes the boxycham ones always look amazing <3 The value of this is quite crazy! I would've been so happy with all of these products, which is actually a quite rare feeling when it comes to subscription boxes.

I totally agree, girly! Out of all the subscription boxes, Boxycharm is the one I look forward to unboxing the most, and the most satisfying 🙂
