Boxycharm November 2018 Unboxing and First Impressions
Hi dolls! Today, I’ll be reviewing the contents of November’s Boxycharm! You can find my review on October’s Boxycharm here. Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month. What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price (sign up here).
November’s theme is Goal Digger and comes with 5 products.
- Ace Beaute Grandiose Palette – $24.99 (Buy here)
The Grandiose Palette features 8 colors. Each color has been carefully milled and pressed to provide the easiest application and the most excellent color pay (acebeaute.com). I was pleasantly impressed by the performance of this eyeshadow palette. Of course, I love the warm shade selection and the range of matte and shimmer shades. The formula is creamy, pigmented, and blend beautifully on the lids.
- CoverFX Glitter Drops in Nova – $44 (Buy here)
Customizable and ultra-concentrated, this multi-use liquid glitter can be used alone, under or over makeup, or mixed into your beauty product for an incredibly luxe, glitter effect on the face and body (coverfx.com). I really enjoy the CoverFX Custom Enhancer Drops so I was excited to receive these Glitter Drops. The formula is very pigmented and would look great as a body highlight. However, I find the glitter is too chunky and gritty for everyday use on the face, either as a foundation mixer or to highlight the cheekbones. I much prefer a finely milled shimmer than a chunky highlight.
- Luxie Luminous Eye Set – $21 (Buy Here)
Grab this limited edition BoxyCharm brushes while they last to start creating your radiant eye looks this season (luxiebeauty.com). This glittery gold brush set is so pretty, particularly for the holidays. Luxie Brushes are very soft, high quality, and wash well. I’ve used all 4 brushes on the eyes and they blend shadows beautifully.
- Farah Galaxy Gold Tweezers – $12 (Buy Here)
These Tweezers are made of surgical stainless steel and equipped with precision slanted and pointed tips. This dual ended grooming tool ensures that even the most delicate tweezing tasks are carried out with unwavering performance (farahbrushes.com). The dual ends are a unique concept, though I rarely ever use the pointed tip. Both sides are ultra sharp and precise, but I prefer the slanted side, which I find easier to grab stubborn eyebrow hairs.
- Bodyography Makeup Brush Cleaner – $12 (Buy Here)
A quick and easy way to cleanse and disinfect your artistry brushes. Made from natural orange peel and gentle cleansers, our Makeup Brush Cleanser will get the job done while satisfying your senses (bodyography.com). This was my first time using an cleanser designed specifically for brush cleaning. I spritz the orange scented liquid liberally over a dirty eyeshadow brush and swirled it in a paper towel until it wiped clean. I like that it gets the job done on the go, particularly since the brush dries quicker, but I’m honestly not impressed enough to pursue a full sized. I’ll be sticking my tried and true method of old fashioned water and hotel bar soap.Overall Rating: I was generally underwhelmed by November’s Boxycharm so I’m giving it a rating of 6/10 stars. November’s box had a combined value of $113.99, which exceeds its cost. I appreciate the aesthetically pleasing gold theme they were going for, but I wasn’t wowed by the overall product selection. My only picks of the batch are the Ace Beaute Grandiose Palette and Luxie Brush Set.
Did you enjoy your Boxycharm? Which products are you most excited to test out?
XO,
Mary Dee
