Boxycharm Premium February 2020 Unboxing and Review
Happy March, dolls! Today, I’m sharing with you my review of February’s Boxycharm Premium! You can find my review on January’s Boxycharm here. Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5 full-sized items for $25/month. Boxycharm Premium is a tier above the Base box, and provides 6-7 full-sized items for $35/month. You can subscribe to both the Premium and Base box simultaneously, and receive different items in each box. What I like about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the price (sign up here).February’s theme is Adore, and comes with 6 products.
- Sutra Beauty Ceramic Flat Iron – $79.99 (Buy here)
The magnetized ceramic plates deliver consistent heat along the length of the plates for silky smooth hair and the finest results. The Ceramic Flat Iron generates negatives ions to combat the dryness and frizz created by the positive irons in the air and hair (sutrabeauty.com). I’ve been giving my hair a much needed rest ever since I bleached the living daylights out of it, so I have not put this flat iron to the test. However, first impressions, I love the baby blue color, sleek design, and the fact that it has different temperature settings. I enjoyed the Sutra Curling Wand from a previous Boxycharm so much that when I was given the choice between this flat iron and an eyeshadow palette in this month’s box, this won by a landslide.
- Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra Fine Mist – $28 (Buy here)
An ultra-fine, hydrating mist formulated with a juicy blend of 84-percent watermelon, hyaluronic acid, and hibiscus to refresh skin and enhance makeup (sephora.com). This pink packaging is absolutely adorable, while the spritzer delivers the finest mist ever. I can douse my face with this before, during, and/or after makeup application and it never feels greasy or look overly dewy. The refreshing watermelon Jolly Rancher scent is so uplifting and perks me right up every time I use it!
- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion – $40 (Buy Here)
A hybrid makeup-skincare serum that promises to deliver a glassy, long-lasting, radiant skin look in one single step (sephora.com). Everything about the packaging, from the sleek, mirrored compact to the marbling imprint is so luxurious! I received the shade Dim Infusion, which is a light pink with the most subtle, natural sheen. Admittedly, this may be too light for me come summertime, but for my current “pale” winter skin, it gives the most beautiful glowy flush. LOVE this!
- Faccia 24K Gold Foil Moisturizer – $100 (Buy Here)
This luxurious, gold infused moisturizer is formulated with essential ingredients infused with vitamins that address signs of aging to promote a youthful appearance. Made to promote a soft, glowing look while reducing the damaging effects of environmental factors (facciaskin.com). Prior to doing any research on this moisturizer, I did put it to the test for a couple of days. I dig the cool, gold packaging and I personally don’t mind the gooey texture, as I am used to Korean Snail Creams and Essences, which have a similar consistency. I did find that it didn’t hydrate my skin as much as I’d like. After I read into the controversy surrounding this product’s questionable origins and exorbitant price tag, I ceased using this on my face, just to be safe. It really is such a shame, because I was genuinely excited to try this moisturizer.
- Tarte Base Tape Hydrating Primer – $30 (Buy Here)
Turn up the base with this vegan, coconut priming serum that hydrates your skin for 12 hours. This rich yet lightweight makeup magnet is infused with a blend of coconut (yum!) & botanicals to help nourish & smooth skin’s appearance (ulta.com). I’ve been reaching for this moisturizing primer daily before my makeup application. While it does not have pore blurring/filling properties, it adds an extra layer of hydration, reducing my dry patches, so my foundation glides smoothly on top. My dry skin just drinks up the moisture. The light, but yummy coconut scent is an added bonus.
6. Korres Body Butter in Violet – $32 (Buy Here)
Rich, luxurious body butter to deeply soften, smooth, and nourish the skin. Our shea butter moisturizer is the perfect lotion for dry skin, helping to improve elasticity and smoothness (korresusa.com). A thick, hydrating body butter with a rich floral scent in the prettiest bottle? Gimme, gimme. I love this ultra moisturizing formula so much, I want to collect all the other scents.
Overall Rating: I’m very happy with February’s Boxycharm so I’m giving it a rating of 10/10 stars. February’s box has a combined value of $309.99. With the exception of the controversy surrounding the Faccia Gold Foil Moisturizer, I was 100% excited and happy with my product selection. This is my favorite Boxycharm Premium to date! My favorite picks of the batch are the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush and Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating Primer.
Did you enjoy your Boxycharm? Which products are you most excited to test out?

Mary Dee
