Dior Backstage Influenster VoxBox Review
Hiii, dolls! Today, I will be reviewing the goodies that I received in my Dior VoxBox from Influenster! This VoxBox’s theme is Dior Backstage and includes a foundation, glow face palette, and mascara. I’ve had more than a month to put these products to the test and formulate my own opinions. Please read on to see my rating of each product based on my personal experience :)
- Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation in 4WO – Retail Price $40 – Buy Here
Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation is the Dior makeup artists’ secret weapon to create a flawless, runway-ready complexion for both the face and body. This waterproof formula fuses with skin, resisting extreme conditions like workout sessions, water, and even high temperatures and humid environments (sephora.com). First off, let’s address the packaging. I associate Dior with an accompanying high price tag, so I expect the packaging to look and feel luxurious. For a foundation, I’m thinking an elaborate glass bottle with a pump… that may or may not include a fireworks display. But I understand the concept behind this collection is functionality as these are the products makeup artists use backstage. In which case, I cannot argue the functionality of the simple packaging. The bottle feels sturdy, and is made of a matte plastic so it is more travel friendly than a glass bottle. There’s a grip to it, so it’s less likely to slip through your hands and break (RIP NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation 🙏🏼). I’m not a fan of the dispenser, however. As you can see, it can get messy really quickly. Now, as for the formula? I LOVE it. The coverage is light, buildable to a solid medium with a matte finish. The consistency is liquidy, so it feels weightless on the skin. If you are looking for a lightweight, everyday foundation, this blurs imperfections and evens out skintone, while still letting your natural skin peek through. In terms of longevity, I put it around the 6-8 hour mark. There are 40 shades available, which is fabulous and 4 Warm Olive happens to match me perfectly. Score! $40 initially sounds very pricey for a foundation, but I’ve noticed that this contains 1.6 oz, which is more than the standard foundation bottle. For example, the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation retails for $39, but only has 1 oz! By comparision, this is a great deal for a Dior foundation. Overall Rating: 9/10 Stars.
- Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette – Retail Price $45 – Buy Here
The Backstage Glow Face Palette is the Dior makeup artist’s secret weapon to add instant radiance to any look. These easy-to-blend powders and highly-concentrated, shimmery pigments can be worn alone or blended together, giving you the freedom to customize your look from a natural glow to intense radiance (sephora.com). It pains me everytime I dip my brush into this palette, knowing I’m slowly wearing away at the Dior imprints in the powders. They are so beautiful!!! This palette has two highlighters, one white and one gold, in addition to two blushes, one pink and one bronze. I love the flattering shade selection. The white strobing powder is not too light that it looks ashy, while the bronzer looks amazing as a blush topper. These powders are so creamy to the touch that they feel almost like the Colourpop Super Shock Highlighters. They are pigmented, but so finely milled, without any chunky glitters and gives the skin a lit-from-within glow. I’m obsessed with this palette! Overall Rating: 10/10 Stars.
- Diorshow Mascara – Retail Price $29.50 – Buy Here
The reinvented Diorshow Mascara features Dior’s revolutionary patented AIR-LOCK™ wiping system that keeps mascara fresh until the last use—as though you were using it on day one. Its original XXL Brush, a backstage makeup pro-inspired tool, is perfect for applying the versatile, microfiber-enhanced formula that gives buildable volume with each stroke (sephora.com). Now, this packaging is gorgeous. It feels so luxurious and the mascara smells like roses 😍 It’s so extra, I love it. Because of the extra large brush, I expected instantly lush, thick lashes. While the formula is pitch black and lengthens lashes, it doesn’t provide as much volume as I would like. If you have naturally long and/or thick lashes, you may very well love this mascara as it doesn’t clump at all despite applying multiple coats. However for myself, I’ll be sticking to my beloved drugstore mascaras. Overall Rating: 6/10 Stars.Final Thoughts: I’m very critical of Dior products, as they’re an established high-end brand with a matching high price point. I am pleasantly impressed with the high quality and performance of the face products. For that reason, I do think the higher price point is justified for these products and I’m thankful for the opportunity partake in this campaign.
Have you tried any of these Dior products? How did they work for you?

Mary Dee
