Good Molecules Glycolic Exfoliating Toner Skincare Review
Ever since I was introduced to Good Molecules last year, it has kickstarted my love affair with the highly affordable and effective skincare brand. You can read all my blogposts reviewing their products here. Today, I am so excited to share with you their newest launch, the Good Molecules Glycolic Exfoliating Toner! They were kind enough to send this to me pre-launch, so I’ve had ample time to test drive the product and provide my honest review for you today!
Good Molecules Glycolic Exfoliating Toner – Retail Price $14 – Buy here
Reveal smoother, brighter skin with the help of this gentle resurfacing treatment. Powered by glycolic acid and galactomyces ferment, Glycolic Exfoliating Toner helps to exfoliate the surface of skin to promote more even tone and texture (getgoodmolecules.com). Buy here.
First off, the dark glass bottle packaging is just like their Niacinamide Brightening Toner (review here), in terms of shape and volume (4 fl oz, 120 ml). At $14, I’m so glad they kept their pricing in line with the rest of their collection.
I have to give Good Molecules props for being completely transparent with their ingredients and percentages, which is clearly labeled on their packaging. It also states that this toner has a pH level of 4.2, is recommended to be used in the PM, and is never tested on animals.
The two key active ingredients in this toner is the 3.5% Glycolic Acid, to penetrate deeper into the skin to encourage exfoliation, and 0.9% Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, to help retain skin barrier function and moisture level. Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate is derived from sake yeast, which has unique properties to aid in skin nourishment. It is rich in vitamins, amino acids, and minerals. I also spy Salicylic Acid (my acne breakouts thank you!), Aloe Leaf Extract, Niacinamide, and Hyaluronic Acid in the ingredients list. Um, yes please!
This toner can be swept over freshly cleansed skin with a cotton pad or dispensed into your palms and patted directly onto the skin until fully absorbed. My preferred method is with a cotton pad, about 2-3 times a week, when my skin is craving some exfoliation or a general reset. To be safe, I do make sure to alternate this with nights where I’m not using a retinol or active treatment, to prevent over chemical exfoliating or irritating my skin. Buy here.
This toner has a watery consistency, though it does have just a smidge of viscosity. It feels very lightweight and absorbs quickly, leaving behind no dewy finish. There is a very slight tingling sensation upon application, but it is not at all painful or uncomfortable, and it dissipates around 5 seconds. My naturally dry skin tolerates it just fine.
This initially imparts a dewy finish, but absorbs quickly with gentle tapping motions. There is no scent, which is to be expected as no fragrances were added. This just leaves my skin feeling so clean, soft, and better equipped to absorb my essences and serums. Whenever I incorporate this into my nighttime skincare routine, I wake up in the morning with a noticeably brighter complexion, and I am living for it!
Good Molecules has come through once again with another wonderful product in their lineup! This is everything I’d want from a chemical exfoliant. If you are in the market for a super affordable, gentle, yet effective exfoliating toner, I highly recommend giving this a try! Overall rating: 10/10 stars. Buy here.
