I’m From Fig Scrub Mask Korean Skincare Review
Happy Friday, fam! For Friday Faves, I figured now is as good of a time as ever to share one of my new favorites from I’m From! I’m sure you can tell by now that I am a big fan of this Korean Skincare brand that emphasizes ingredient transparency, honest materials, and no harmful additives. You can read all my previous I’m From blogpost reviews here. Today, I am bringing my review of the I’m From Fig Scrub Mask, one of Wishtrend‘s bestsellers!
I’m From Fig Scrub Mask – Retail Price $32 – Buy here (Wishtrend) – Buy here (Amazon)
This scrub mask contains fig powder 1.2% and black sugar to gently remove dead skin cells for clear skin. A double exfoliator that softly dissolves dead skin cells while the black sugar helps with removing impurities entirely with a scrub effect (wishtrend.com). Buy here (Wishtrend). Buy here (Amazon).
The star ingredient in this mask is the Natural Fig Extract that originates from the Yeongam region in Korea, though I am a little surprised that there is only 1.2%. It’s a nice touch that they clearly display it on the packaging so you know the exact origins of the ingredients.
This Scrub Mask comes in the same stunning boysenberry glass jar with the minimalistic design being very much in line with their other aesthetically pleasing Fig products.
According to the ingredients list, there is fragrance added in this mask, so take that into consideration if you are sensitive to fragrances in your skincare. I haven’t experienced any issues with sensitivity or irritation. I also find the light, sweet and fruity scent pleasing as it adds to the sensory experience.
I feel that physical exfoliants get a bad rap for being overly harsh, while chemical exfoliants are touted as the gentler alternative and hugely popular at the moment. I personally disagree. I have more control over physical exfoliants and let’s just say, I have never suffered chemical burns or over exfoliated from a scrub. There, I said it. Naturally, I was already rooting for this scrub mask.
According to the directions, you can leave this on for 10-15 minutes, then gently massage onto the skin and rinse thoroughly with warm water. The mask stays moist during the treatment, never drying down or hardening like a clay or peel-off mask. It also rinses off easily, without stripping the skin of moisture.
O my goodness, after that massage, my skin feels baby soft and smooth. I like incorporating this Scrub Mask a couple times a week, particularly at night, as I feel it removes that layer of dead skin cells, allowing my serums and moisturizer to penetrate better overnight. I wake up in the morning with a noticeably brighter, healthier complexion.
If you have severely dry skin like myself and need a break from chemical actives or you’re just looking for an ultra gentle exfoliant to add into your skincare routine, I highly recommend giving this Scrub Mask a try. Even when I’m pressed for time and can’t sit around masking for the full 15 minutes, I will still reach for this just as an exfoliant when my skin is feeling congested or experiencing texture. I love having a sugar scrub on hand and this one checks all my boxes! Buy here (Wishtrend). Buy here (Amazon).
