Because Insert Name Here’s Color Dyes are deposit-only, it will not lift or lighten hair, it doesn’t require a developer, and the color is temporary.
My starting hair color is light blonde/ platinum that had been colored with Arctic Fox’s Purple Rain, with about 7 weeks fade. There is a cute cotton candy pink tint, but I was just ready for a change up, especially for the holidays.
Because I was happy with this concentrated jewel-toned shade, I applied the cream directly from the jar, saving me the hassle of pouring it into another bowl and diluting the color. Score!
I brush through my hair to make sure there are no tangles, then section it into 4 quadrants, and tackle one at a time. I recommend taking very small segments at a time to fully coat each strand. It can be a little time consuming, but this ensures every strand is saturated with color and there is no missed spots.
You can use an applicator brush to paint the color on. I usually start with the brush, lose my patience, and then apply it directly on with my gloved fingers. Both methods work perfectly fine as long as you saturate every strand with color.
These Insert Color Here dyes smell so good! It does not have any overpowering chemical smell, just a yummy, fruity scent that isn’t sickenly sweet either.
After I have inspected for any missed spots, and all looks good, the clock starts and the waiting begins. According to the Insert Name Here website, this hair color is so gentle and hydrating, you can leave it on as long as you want. My happy threshold is the one hour mark. I will remark that quite a bit of color runs off during the rinsing process, so be sure to hose down the shower area to prevent staining. Below is how much product is left after my application. I still have a little over half a jar for another complete coloring session. Sweet!
After my hair has been dried and styled, here is the final look!
What do you guys think of this new cranberry shade?!
It is admittedly a little brighter and berry-toned than I expected, but I still love it!
Insert Name Here does not mess around when it comes to their pigments, they are so vibrant! As a bonus, my hair honestly feels so much softer and shinier than before I colored it.
If you are looking to change up your hair at home with a fun temporary color, I highly recommend giving Insert Color Here a try. I am so impressed with the ultra hydrating, pigmented conditioning formula and can’t wait to try their other shades! Overall Rating: 10/10 Stars. Buy Here.
