Ipsy Glam Bag August 2016 Unboxing

Hi loves! Today, I am excited to share with you the contents of my August Ipsy Glam Bag. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag. Let’s dive right in and get started!

August’s theme is Sugar Highness and the Glam Bag comes with 5 products in this crazy adorable watercolor-mermaid design pouch. This is my favorite cosmetic bags from them thus far.

1. Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Liquid Lipstick in K, Bye – Full Sized (0.27 fl oz) – Retail Price $22 (trustfundbeauty.com)

Our moisturizing almost matte liquid lipstick… A dusty dessert rose, with a hint of brown shade (trustfundbeauty.com). I’ve received nail polishes from this brand in Glam Bags before, but I didn’t know what to expect from a makeup product. This liquid lipstick shade is gorgeous! The formula does not dry completely matte, but more like a true melted lipstick. While it is not transfer-proof, it applies very pigmented and wears comfortably between meals.

2. Pacifica Natural Minerals Sundreams Lotus Infused Bronzer in Sunkissed – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.88 oz)

This bronze is as good as gold. Smooth and super blendable, it gives that perfect sun-kissed glow without weighing skin down (ipsy.com). How cute is this packaging?! I didn’t have high expectations for this product, but it is surprisingly good! It is very pigmented and dark enough to show up against my golden tan skin tone. This bronzer isn’t matte so I would not recommend it contouring. However, the satin sheen makes it lovely for an all over healthy glow. LOVE this.

3. NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Sunbeam – Deluxe Sized (0.43 oz)

Enrich your lovely features with a touch of NYX Cosmetics’ Liquid Illuminator! A light application will give your skin that luminous and healthy goddess glow. Creates a sheer illuminating glow on face and body (ulta.com). I have seen this product out for awhile, and have been wanting to try it. This imparts a beautiful sheen to the skin. You can apply it over your foundation for spot highlighting or under for a subtle glow. I personally like to mix it in with foundation for an all over glow. A full-sized liquid illuminator contains 0.5 fl oz so this is suuuper close to having retail value of $7.49 (ulta.com).

4. It Hair Care 12-in-One Amazing Leave In Treatment – Deluxe Sized (3.4 fl oz)

A highly efficient Leave in Treatment as opposed to a leave in Conditioner. 12-IN-ONE Amazing Leave in Treatment repairs, protects and strengthens hair, providing 12 amazing benefits with results driven ingredients including our exclusive Abyssinian Oil (ipsy.com). This packaging and claims reminds me of the It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Treatment. This smells really nice and is the perfect size for packing along on my upcoming tropical vacations. I like to apply Leave In Treatments before I go swimming to protect my haircolor from the harsh effects of the sun and saltwater. A full size of this Treatment (5.1 oz) retails for about $10 (walmart.com).

5. Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Peptide Infused Nail Lacquer in Unscripted – Full Sized (0.4 fl oz) – Retail Price $12 (ulta.com)

Infused with a pure protein peptide extracted from New Zealand sheep’s wool, the lacquers deliver a fast drying, high gloss shine while providing an unequaled level of strength for stubborn nails to grow longer and more resistant to chipping, peeling and splitting (ulta.com). A glossy polish that promises to strengthen my weak, peeling nails? Sign me up! The polish applied smoothly with full coverage after 2 solid coats and I am digging this unique Barbie/pinky violet shade.

Overall Rating: I would give this month’s Glam Bag a rating of 8/10 stars, based on my first impressions. I ADORE the design of the cosmetics bag so that alone earned extra points. This bag includes 2 full sized items with an approximate value of $34. For $10, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me! Additionally, the deluxe sizes were very generous and will last quite some time. The NYX Liquid Illuminator and Pacifica Bronzer were my two favorite products of the bunch 😉
