Ipsy Glam Bag December 2016 Unboxing & First Impressions

Happy Thursday, loves! Today, I will be sharing with you the contents of my December Glam Bag! Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum – Deluxe Sized (0.6 fl oz)

Glycolic Fix Serum is a highly effective overnight serum with powerful Glycolic Acid to improve skin texture + smooth the appearance of fine lines + wrinkles. PoreAway visibly reduces the appearance of pores for a more refined + even looking complexion (ulta.com). I fortunately don’t need much assistance with fine lines/wrinkles (for now), but I do need help with texture and evening skin tone. I’ll be adding this to my nightly routine.

Mica Beauty Cosmetics Angle Eye Shadow Brush – Full Sized- Retail Price $22.95

MicaBeauty’s high quality Angle Eye Shadow Brush makes your makeup look softer, more professional, and takes less time to apply. Perfect for application of eye shadow in the contoured areas of the eyes (micabeauty.com). This is a nice, sleek synthetic angled eye brush. I personally don’t gravitate towards slanted brushes for my eyeshadow application so I will be passing this along.

Hikari Liquid Eye Liner in Iris – Full Sized – (1.5 g) – Retail Price $15

The perfect liquid eyeliner that features a precision felt tip brush for an easy to use application that goes on smoothly and effortlessly (hikaricosmetics.com). Goodness, I am seriously overstocked with black felt tip liner pens from all my subscription boxes lately. I will be passing this along as well.

NYX Prismatic Shadow in Jaded – Full Sized – (1.24 g) – Retail Price $5.99

Give your eyes extra sparkle and dimension with a fully pigmented metallic texture with NYX Cosmetics Prismatic Eye Shadow (ulta.com). I own a couple of these NYX Eyeshadows, including this beautiful, forest-green shade, so I will be giving this to a friend. These shadows are so creamy, pigmented, and have the most gorgeous multi-dimensional finish. I love them and highly recommen

Overall Rating: I would give this month’s Glam Bag a rating of 5/10 stars, based on my first impressions. Although the bag has a retail value surpassing its $10 price tag, I was just disappointed in my selection of products. The NYX eyeshadow is fabulous, but the only product I’m remotely interested in trying out is the Smashbox Lipstick Mattifier. I am crossing my fingers next month’s bag will be better AND that I stop receiving liquid eyeliner pens 😉
