Ipsy Glam Bag February 2017 Unboxing & First Impressions
Hiii, loves! I’m baaaccckkk!!! The hubs and I just recently returned from a three week trip to the Caribbean, which was ahhh-mazing. During that time, I had limited to no access to Wi-Fi and cellphone reception so I apologize for being MIA for so long. I am so excited to be back, playing with new makeup, and blogging again! 😉 Thank you so much for bearing with me while I play catch-up on all the beauty subscriptions that arrived while I was away. Today, I am chipping away at the pileup by starting with my February Ipsy Glam Bag! Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag. Let’s dive right in and get started!
February’s theme is Much Love and the Glam Bag comes with 5 products in this denim pouch, which I’m personally not wowed by.
- NYX Butter Lipstick in Ripe Berry – Full Sized (4.5g) – $6 (nyxcosmetics.com)
The formula’s delicate satin texture fused with highly saturated color delivers full-yet-lightweight coverage with a luxurious satin finish (nyxcosmetics.com). I own quite a few Butter Lipsticks already so I was happy to add this beautiful berry shade to the collection. I adore the Butter line as they are so creamy, pigmented, and glide on the lips like the dream. They are not at all long-lasting or transfer proof, but they wear so comfortably that I don’t mind reapplying throughout the day.
- Seraphine Botanicals Luminude 74% Water-Based Skin Illuminator – Full Sized (0.35 fl oz) – $24 (seraphinebotanicals.com)
A soft-touch skin luminizer made from cold-pressed Evening Primrose Oil that gives a youthful brilliance and glow to your complexion (seraphinebotanicals.com). Because of the high water content, this liquid highlighter is so lightweight and blends very easily to the skin. It imparts a very natural, dewy sheen to the skin as opposed to an in-your-face highlight. I personally liked mixing it directly with my BB cream for an additional glow rather than spot highlighting, which I prefer with a more pigmented powder highlight.
- Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in I Give Good Tweet – Full Sized (0.57 fl oz) – $15 (trustfundbeauty.com)
Going above and beyond much of the competition, these super shiny formulas are 10-free (ipsy.com). I have been consistently impressed with Trust Fund Beauty’s nail polishes. Their flat brush easily conforms to the nail, applying even layers of color, and the formula is opaque after two coats. This robin-egg blue with a slight iridescence is gorgeous and would look equally amazing in the winter as well as spring/summer months.
- Soo Ae Luminous Hydration Collagen Essence Mask Green Tea – Full Sized – (0.85 oz) – ~$5
Using the highest grade of Tencel sheets infused with hydrolyzed collagen, Sooae’s Nature Collagen Essence Green Tea Sheet Masks are great to use for all skin types, and even for sensitive skin. Green Tea provides radiant hydration with antioxidants. Achieve smooth, healthy and supple skin with Green Tea Leaf Extract, an anti-inflammatory that contains powerful antioxidants and provides effective skincare benefits by slowing down the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin and reducing UV damage (target.com). Can you ever have enough sheet masks? I think not! I adore Korean skincare and can’t wait to try out this hydrating mask. My dry winter skin needs all the moisture it can get! Retail price on Target’s website is $15 for a 3-pack.
- Soo Ae Purifying Black Charcoal Mask – Full Sized – (0.88 oz) – $2.50 (walmart.com)
The Soo Ae Purifying Black Charcoal Mask is formulated using Korean binchotan charcoal, a renowned anti-inflammatory that purifies skin while brightening the complexion. With the addition of cultured green tea extract and green caviar extract, this mask recharges, hydrates and boosts skin elasticity, resulting in beautifully clarified, smooth and supple skin in just 15 minutes. (walmart.com). I love that Ipsy included both a purifying and hydrating mask to cater to different skin needs. I’m packing this with me for my next tropical trip where my skin needs clarifying in the humid climate. I look forward to putting this Soo Ae brand to the test.
Overall Rating: I would give this month’s Glam Bag a rating of 10/10 stars, based on my first impressions. February’s Glam Bag has an approximate retail value of $52.50, making it a great value. It was such a steal as every item was full-sized and I was very impressed with my selection of products this month. This is the first time during my Ipsy subscription duration that I am hardpressed to pick a favorite among the products. I like all of them and can’t wait to use them all 🙂
What did you receive in your February Ipsy Glam Bag? Which products are you most excited to test out?
