Ipsy Glam Bag October 2016 Unboxing

Hiii babes!! It’s that time, already?! Where did the month go?! Today, I will be sharing with you the contents of my October Ipsy Glam Bag. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag. Let’s dive right in and get started!

Noyah Natural Lipstick in Currant News – Deluxe Sized (1.4g)

Our all-natural lipsticks are formulated with ingredients like Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and skin-protecting Vitamin E, hydrating lips while adding a punchy pop to your pout (noyah.com). I’ve received a full sized lipgloss from this brand in a previous Ipsy bag and adored the eco friendly, yet ultra chic packaging. This is a very deep plum shade which will look lovely in the winter. Retail price for a full sized is $18.

The Balm Cabana Boy Shadow/Blush – Sample Sized (0.02 oz)

Nothing is more satisfying than being indulged, and this dusty-rose blush will ensure that you have all the boys attending to you. Its subtle shimmer catches the eye while plum undertones provide a glow that is oh-so-natural, whether you are pool-side, beach-side or bed-side (thebalm.com). The retro packaging of The Balm products are adorable. We will see how this stacks up to their cult favorite highlighters.

Lottie Perfectly Precise Brush – Full Sized – Retail Price $15 (asos.com)

Part shadow brush… Part smudger… Dense fibers let you apply powder and cream shadows (ulta.com). This is the first time I’ve heard of this Lottie brand. This looks like the standard brush for packing eyeshadow on the lid, although the hot pink, duo- fibers are cute.

Ciate Fierce Flicks – Full Sized – Retail Price $19

Formulated for intense, super-black colour pay-off, dramatic wings and feline flicks are no match for this easy to use precision tip (ciatelondon.com). O my, I am racking up a collection of black felt tip liner pens from all my subscription boxes LOL I will be passing this along to a friend to try out.

Indi Beauty Buttercream Antioxidant Lip Scrub – Sample Sized

An All-Natural four-in-one formula acts as a lipstick remover, a lip scrub, lip balm AND your anti-aging skincare! It’s perfect for conditioning your lips after sporting the toughest lip stains or to prep your lips before that big makeout session (indicosmetics.com). My lips have been so dry with the colder weather, I need all the moisture relief I can get. I love lip scrubs for exfoliation before application of matte liquid lipsticks. This product is neat in its claims to not only exfoliate lips, but also moisturize and remove lipstick. Retail price for a full sized (5g) is $11.99 on the Indi website.

Overall Rating: I would give this month’s Glam Bag a rating of 3/10 stars, based on my first impressions. Sad day 🙁 The deluxe sizes were decent, and the two full sized products have a total value of $34, so the value is there. Unfortunately, I personally was just disappointed with my selection of products. For myself, October’s Glam Bag was a dud, but I am crossing my fingers Ipsy will come through next month 😉
