Ipsy July 2017 Glam Bag Unboxing and First Impressions
Goood morning, dolls! By the time this post goes live, I’ll likely be up in the air en route to Colorado for the week ? But I still wanted to share with you the contents of my July’s Ipsy Glam Bag while I was away! You can find my June Ipsy Glam Bag here. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag.
July’s theme is Over Easy and the Glam Bag comes with 6 products in this adorable pouch with an…egg design LOL Out of curiosity, I looked up what the Gudetama logo meant. As it turns out, it is a popular Japanese Sanrio egg character. That makes sense now ? I also dig the bright yellow envelope packaging, which is a nice change up from Ipsy’s pink ones.
- Cougar 24 Hour Liquid Lipstick in Mulberry– Full Sized (0.28 oz) – Retail Price ~$9.06 – (cougarbeautyproducts.com)
Our Liquid Lipsticks are perfect for creating a long lasting, bold & striking lip. Formulated to be quick drying, full coverage, non smudging or streaking but completely hydrating all at the same time (cougarbeautyproducts.com). Mulberry is a gorgeous plum shade that I will happily rock through the fall. The formula is very pigmented, coating the lips in even color in one swipe. It takes about 5 minutes to fully set, after which it is transfer- and budge-proof. It dries to a true matte finish, but doesn’t suck the moisture out of your lips. This also has a banana scent, which I don’t like in candies, but quite enjoy in this lippie.
- Ciate Wonderwand Gel Kohl Liner in Black – Deluxe Sized (0.028 oz) – (sephora.com)
An eyeliner pencil that combines the creamy blendability of a kohl, with the intense, high coverage, long wearing pigment of a gel (sephora.com). This pencil has a traditional kohl eyeliner on one end and a synthetic eyeliner brush on the other. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect black eyeliner that will stay put on the waterline. Unfortunately, the search continues 🙁 This is smooth, creamy, and glides on easily on the lid and waterline, but was not at all long-lasting. Retail pricing for a full sized at 0.04 oz is $18.

Beaute Basics Travel Face Blender – Full Sized – Retail Price $9.99 – (beautebasics.com)
This light pink beauty sponge is so darn cute! I was most excited for this product because I was really hoping it was another great dupe for the Beauty Blender. I can’t get enough beauty sponges, but this turned out to be the worst sponge I’ve ever tried! Despite soaking it under running water, this stayed super hard (giggity-giggity). It had no bounce and did nothing to help with foundation and concealer application. Such a disappointment 🙁
- Ofra Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Gold Rush – Full Sized (0.07 oz) – Retail Price $12 –(ofracosmetics.com)
Fabulous pressed powder eye shadows with strong pigment for a long lasting effect which can be applied with an eyeshadow brush, wet or dry. This selection of eyeshadows have shimmer and possibly metallic look to them depending on how they are used (ofracosmetics.com). Gold Rush is a gorgeous coppery eyeshadow. Look at those metallic reflects! ? The formula is so creamy, buttery, and pigmented. I was very impressed with this Ofra shade.

Tony Moly I’m Real Green Tea Mask Sheet and Lotus Mask Sheet – Full Sized – Retail Price $6 for set of 2 – (tonymoly.us)
Replenish your skin with our I’m Real Sheet Mask Collection! Available in sets of 2 in an array of ingredients, the 3-layer pulp sheet is filled with natural ingredients and soaked in different types of enriched essence (Water-type, Micro-Emulsion Type, Milky Lotion Type) to yield maximum hydration for your skin. Transform dull and tired skin into healthy, moisturized skin in as little as 20 minutes (tonymoly.us). Can you ever have enough sheet masks? I think not 😉 I’ll be bringing the Green Tea Mask with me on my trip to keep my skin hydrated in the dry mountain air.
Overall Rating: I was fairly satisfied with my Glam Bag so I give this month a rating of 8/10 stars, based on my first impressions. July’s bag contained 5 full-sized products with a total retail price of $37, so their sizes were very generous. I liked the selection of products this month that ranged from beauty tools to lippies, and skincare. I just wished the beauty sponge performed better because that was the product I was most excited for. The rest of the products were fine and dandy. My favorite products of the bunch are the Ofra Eyeshadow and Cougar Liquid Lipstick.
What did you receive in your July Ipsy Glam Bag? Which products are you most excited to test out?
XO,
Mary Dee
