Ipsy March 2017 Glam Bag Unboxing & First Impressions
Happy Monday, loves! Today, we are kickstarting the week with a review of the March Ipsy Glam Bag! Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag.
March’s theme is You Are Beautiful and the Glam Bag comes with 5 products in this square, blush-colored bag.
- Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Vibin – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.034 fl oz) – (tartecosmetics.com)
A quick-dry, full-coverage, transfer-proof liquid lipstick (sephora.com). This wine shade is absolutely gorgeous, but I am also really digging the formula of these Tarteist Liquid Lipsticks. It has an ultra pigmented, liquid consistency, much like Colourpop’s. This did not apply patchy whatsoever, dries down to an ultra matte finish, and does not transfer. Love this lippie!
- Air Repair Complexion- Boosting Moisturizer – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.34 fl oz)
Chock full of Hyaluronic Acid, Pathenol and Heat Shock Proteins, this high performance cream repairs and rejuvenates stressed and inflamed skin on contact (airrepairskincare.com). This cream looks ultra thick coming out of the bottle, but once I rubbed it into the skin, it feels very lightweight on. It made for a nice base for my BB Cream to glide over on top.
- Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush – Full Sized – Retail Price $15 – (elizabethmott.com)
The synthetic bristles are not only cruelty-free, they’re super durable. These same bristles also are perf for applying and smudging cream shadows, since they won’t absorb too much product. Whether for your crease or outer corners, it’s choice for creating smokey, smudgy, sexy looks (ipsy.com). This is the first time I’ve tried a makeup brush by this brand, and I was pleasantly impressed. I like the seafoam colored handle and the synthetic bristles are ultra soft. Can you ever have enough eye blending brushes? I think not! 😉
- Eyeko Fat Brow Liquid Liner in Light to Medium – Full Sized – (0.12 oz) – Retail Price $22 – (eyeko.com)
Enhance your brows with single stroke colour. Create a bold look with a natural finish with our easy-to-use liquid felt tip to strengthen the sparsest of brows (eyeko.com). I’ve never tried an eyebrow product that looks and goes on like a felt marker. It’s a unique concept, but I am not in love with this formula. It glides on easily, but it has a runny, watery formula so it doesn’t create the sharpest point at the tips. This works for light shading in of naturally thick brows, but I would not recommend this for anyone with sparse brows who are looking to draw in realistic hairs. For that, you are better off with a pencil or pomade formula.
- Ouai Treatment Masque – Deluxe Sized – (1 fl oz)
A restorative healing mask that’s formulated to leave strands incredibly soft and smooth after just one treatment (sephora.com). I have received Ouai products in a couple of beauty subscription boxes and have enjoyed them all. They just make bomb haircare products! I’m sure this will be equally amazing and my parched hair needs all the TLC it can get!
Overall Rating: I would give this month’s Glam Bag a rating of 8/10 stars, based on my first impressions. March’s bag contains 2 full-sized products with a total retail value of $37. That alone exceeds the price of the subscription, making it a great value. My favorite picks of the batch are the Tarte Lip Paint and Ouai Hair Masque.
What did you receive in your March Ipsy Glam Bag? Which products are you most excited to test out?
XO,
Mary Dee
