Ipsy March 2018 Glam Bag Unboxing and First Impressions
Hiii, dolls! Today, we will be going over the contents of March’s Ipsy Glam Bag! You can find my February Ipsy Glam Bag here. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag (sign up here).March’s’s theme is Create and comes with 5 products in this cool bag where you can use the markers included to color in. Such a neat concept!
- Leaders Labotica Transforming Liquid Foil Mask – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.67 fl oz) – (Buy here)
The Transforming Liquid Foil Mask firms and brightens skin while tightening pores and removing dead skin cells. This liquid mask peel off mask is fortified with botanical extracts that help calm inflammation and nourish the skin. Pearl extract stimulates collagen production and helps fight signs of aging (leaderscosmeticsusa.com). This is the first face mask I’ve tried that has that trendy metallic finish. It made me look like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz…and I’m digging it 😉 I applied a thin layer, allowing it to dry for about 30 minutes, before peeling it all off. It actually did leave my skin feeling tighter and slightly brighter so I would happily use this again.
- Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.06 fl oz) – (Buy here)
A botanical-fueled energising formula, infused with caffeine and a double dose of fibres to lift the sleepiest of ‘bed lashes’ for perkier volume, curl and care all day. Lash Alert will improve long-term elasticity and resilience for naturally thicker lashes, around the clock (eyeko.com). The bright blue packaging is super cute, but the wet formula and curved brush did not do much to curl my stubborn lashes. I would recommend this for those looking for length rather than dramatic volume.

HerMinerals The Professional Blending Sponge – Full Sized – Retail Price $12 – (Buy here)
This sponge works great with mineral makeup, liquid foundations, bronzers, and much more. Its pointed end is perfect for applying product under eyes, around nose, and mouth, while the wider base is the perfect size for patting powder and creams onto the cheeks, chin, and forehead (herminerals.com). I have been on a total beauty sponge kick lately, so I really wanted to like this, but it did not work for me at all 😞 I like the nude shade and shape of this sponge, but that’s about it. Despite me trying to dampen and soften it under water, it stayed rock hard (gig giggity) and absorbed more product than distributing it. This was a hard pass.
- Twila True True Renewal Oil – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.25 fl oz) – (Buy here)
True Renewal Oil is the only multi-purpose beauty oil made with 18 of nature’s best oils and extracts delivering, radiance, protection, and repair from head to toe. Use the perfect make-up primer, face moisturizer or nourishing treatment for all over, including lackluster locks (twilatruebeauty.com). I love facial oils, but my skin has been acting out so I didn’t want to risk more breakouts by introducing this to the mix at the moment. Instead, I tried this on the dry skin of my hands and it feels so luxurious. The oil absorbs quickly while providing instant moisture. I would definitely try this on my face at a later date. Additionally, the matte black and gold packaging is tres chic! The full sized retails for $48 for 1 fl oz so this deluxe sample size has a value of about $12.

Steve Laurent Lip Oil in Orchid – Full Sized (0.1 oz) – Retail Price $18 – (Buy here)
Our lip oil is designed to soften the lips and prevent sun damage and is both moisturizing and hydrating. Re apply as often as necessary (stevelaurent.com). Though there is a pink tint in the tube, it appears clear on the lips. This lip oil smells like coconut, feels moisturizing, and leaves a shiny finish. I really like this because it does double duty as a lip balm and a gloss.Overall Rating: I rather enjoyed March’s Glam Bag so I give this month a rating of 8/10 stars, based on my first impressions. Even though I would pass on the mascara and beauty sponge, I liked the other three products so much that I’m willing to overlook the duds. My favorite picks of the bunch is the Twila True Oil and Steve Laurent Lip Oil.
What did you receive in your March Ipsy Glam Bag? Which products are you most excited to test out?
