Ipsy May 2019 Glam Bag Unboxing and Review

Howdy, y’all! Today, I’m sharing with you my review of May’s Ipsy Glam Bag! You can find my April Ipsy Glam Bag here. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag (sign up here).May’s Glam Bag comes with 5 products in this glittery gold pouch.

IBY Beauty Radiant Glow Highlighter in 24K Magic – Deluxe Sized – (Buy here)

I’m pleasantly impressed by this highlighter’s creamy, buttery, and pigmented formula. 24K Magic is a flattering peachy gold that gives the skin a dewy sheen with a lighter hand, or you can pack it on for a high impact shine.

Hola Neon Matte Liquid Lipstick in FOMO – Full Sized – (Buy here)

How chic is this gold packaging? FOMO is a gorgeous berry fuschia. The velvet formula is very thin and lightweight, but pigmented and fully opaque with one layer. This liquid lipstick dries down quickly, and lasts all day without any crumbling.

FARAH Brushes 22E Shade and Blend Brush – Full Sized – (Buy here)

This holographic eyeshadow brush feels well made with soft bristles. The duo ends saves space in the makeup bag, which comes in handy when traveling. The flat side is great for patting eyeshadow on the lid, while the other side makes for a nice blender in the crease.

Pixi by Petra H2O Skindrink – Deluxe Sized – (Buy here)

This gel moisturizer has a watery, almost runny consistency, but I am surprised by how hydrating it is. Typically, I find water creams and moisturizer gels are better suited for normal to combo/ oily skintypes, but this provided adequate hydration for my dry skin. I can see myself reaching for this on light to no makeup days, when I don’t need a heavy cream base under foundations.

Papa Recipe Eggplant Clearing 5.5 Cleansing Foam – Deluxe Sized – (Buy here)

This cleansing foam is so thick it takes some elbow grease to squeeze it out of the little tube. The formula is very creamy and does not lather up, but rinses clean without stripping the skin of moisture. I would not recommend this for makeup removal, but it works fine as a morning cleanser.

Overall Rating: I was rather let down by May’s Ipsy Glam Bag so I’m giving this month a rating of 6/10 stars, based on my first impressions. The general product selection just didn’t excite me. I really hope Ipsy comes through next month. The only products I’m really interested in are the IBY Highlighter and Farah Eyeshadow Brush.
