Ipsy November 2017 Glam Bag Unboxing and First Impressions
Happy Monday, everyone! ☕ Today, we will be going over the contents of November’s Ipsy Glam Bag! You can find my October Ipsy Glam Bag here. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag (sign up here).
November’s theme is All You and comes with 5 products in this mustard pouch.
- Bang Beauty Lip Gloss in Spice – Full Sized (0.1 oz) – Retail Price $18 – (bangbeautyofficial.com)
Spice is a neutral gloss, perfect for any skin tone (bangbeautyofficial.com). Right off the bat, this lipgloss has a very artificial vanilla frosting scent that I’m personally not a fan of. The formula is moisturizing and pigmented, but not quite opaque. I found I had to apply a couple of layers to get full opacity. Spice is a pretty coral shade, but not particularly flattering with my skin tone. Unfortunately, this lipgloss was a pass for me.
- Trestique Mini Brow Pencil in Expresso – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.005 oz) – (trestique.com)
Featuring a triangular shaped pencil that leaves brows defined, with a soft natural look. Paired with a tinted gel that leaves brows subtly sculpted (trestique.com). This brow pencil has an angled shape that is similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer. However, I was disappointed in its performance. The formula is very dry and not at all pigmented, despite how many times I kept trying to draw strokes through my brows. It’s a shame this was such a dud because I dig the cute packaging.
-
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream in Tan – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.135 fl oz) – (itcosmetics.com)
This breakthrough color-correcting cream never creases or cracks and instantly camouflages skin imperfections including dark spots (itcosmetics.com). I’ve heard rave reviews about this CC Cream, and I’m pleased to report it lived up to the hype ✊ This feels lightweight, blended seamlessly, and gives medium to full coverage. If someone told me this was a foundation, I wouldn’t know any better. It made my skin look flawless! Additionally, Tan matched my current skin tone perfectly. Score!
- Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Feisty – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.05 oz) – (tartecosmetics.com)
An award-winning powder blush with longwearing Amazonian clay, so pigment looks freshly applied all day (tartecosmetics.com). I LOVE Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blushes. The formula is creamy, pigmented, long-lasting, and blend seamlessly on the cheeks. Feisty is a beautiful terra-cotta shade that is a great neutral. It adds a beautiful flush for those natural makeup days and doesn’t compete with heavy smokey eyes either.
-
Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.5 fl oz) – (mudmasky.com)
Refines Pores and Brightens, while keeping your skin Hydrated and Smooth. Helps to Balance your Skin’s pH for a Perfect Complexion. Skin becomes visibly Healthier, feels Energized and looks Plumper (mudmasky.com). This mud mask has a thin consistency that spreads easily all over the face. I left it on for about 15 minutes and felt some major tightening, but didn’t see much of a difference in my skin after I rinsed off the product. At $81 for a 2 oz full sized, I expected more dramatic results.
Overall Rating: I am fairly happy with November’s Glam Bag so I give this month a rating of 7/10 stars, based on my first impressions. The Bang Beauty Lipgloss is full sized and had a retail value of $18, which covers the cost of the bag. Despite the disappointing performance of three of the products, the sample sizes are generous. My favorite picks of the batch are the Tarte Blush and It Cosmetics CC Cream.
What did you receive in your November Ipsy Glam Bag? Which products are you most excited to test out?

Spice looks like such a pretty color, such a shame you didn’t like on your skin :/ I feel like this months bag looks quite great, maybe just except for that eyebrow product.
