July Monthly Empties and Reviews
Happy Monday, y’all! Today we will be going over the Product Empties from July. I apologize for not getting this post up earlier, but I was in Texas all last week, flew home for the weekend, and then I will be flying out to Arizona this week! I am so thankful I have the opportunities to travel, but it can be quite the whirlwind. Still, I figured, better late than never 😉 Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.
MAKEUP
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Medium/Deep: This is a hugely popular drugstore concealer, and for good reason. It comes in a nice range of shades/tones, provides medium coverage, blends well under the eyes, and gives a dewy finish. I have backups of these and highly recommend!
L’Oreal Carbon Black Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner: The formula of this pencil was very creamy, pigmented, and blendable, but didn’t last very long on the waterline or lower lashline. The rubber sponge on the other end was pretty much useless for blending or smoking out the product, plus this dried out so quickly. I will not be repurchasing.
SKINCARE
Skin & Lab Vita Energy Toner & Mist: I spritzed this on every morning and night after I’ve washed my face, but before I’ve applied my essence and moisturizers. The spray bottle delivers a very fine mist that leaves the skin feeling refreshed and smells ahhh-mazing, like a spa ? You could also spritz this over makeup throughout the day or anytime your skin needs a pick-me-up. I LOVED this toner mist and would repurchase.
Ariul Stress Relieving Pureful Cleansing Foam: I received this cream cleanser in an Ariul Memebox. It didn’t quite remove all my makeup at the end of the night, but it did a decent job of cleansing my face in the morning, rinsing clean, and not leaving it overly dry. Overall, it was a nice cleanser, but nothing stand-out, so I would not repurchase.
Philosophy Purity Made Simple One Step Facial Cleanser: Look at the size of this bottle. Can you tell I LOVE this cleanser? 😉 I buy the jumbo size everytime there is a sale and this lasts me forever. I use this every night with my Clarisonic to cleanse my face after I’ve removed my makeup with a Costco Makeup Remover Wipe. This is a gentle cleanser that takes off residual makeup and doesn’t strip the skin of moisture. I am trying to venture more into Korean cleansers, but I would rebuy this in a heartbeat and wholly recommend.
Clark’s Botanical Anti-Puff Eye Cream: I received this in a previous Boxycharm and finally got around to testing this out. I like the chic green packaging with the convenient pump. The formula was lightweight, absorbed quickly, and provided adequate moisture to the delicate eye area, but I didn’t see much of a difference in de-puffing and reducing dark circles. I enjoyed this while it lasted, but would not repurchase.
BODYCARE
Lancome Flash Bronzer: I rarely use self tanner as I usually tan quite easily and naturally in the summer, but with the hectic past couple of months, there just hasn’t been any time to lounge by the pool or beach ? I gave this a go, applying a thin, even layer after showering, and found it absorbed very quickly. I never had issues with it transferring onto my clothes or bedsheets. The gel is tinted so I could see almost immediate results upon application to avoid streakiness or any missed spots. If I didn’t reapply the product every other day, it would completely wash out in about 3 days. I quite enjoyed this, but would not repurchase as I would try a darker self tanner shade.
PERFUME
DKNY Red Delicious Eau de Parfum Spray: It took me years to finish this entire bottle, but I absolutely adore this fragrance. This scent is so fresh, fruity, and yes, it does smell like apples 😉 It smells sooo good! How adorable and unique is this round packaging? This to me, is summer in a bottle, and I would repurchase in a heartbeat ?
HAIRCARE
PYT Argan Oil Treatment: This was another product I received in a previous Boxycharm. I love applying oils to the ends of freshly washed hair for added moisture, but I found this was too heavy and weighed my fine hair down. It didn’t do much to improve hair manageability either, plus this has a very strong, cologne smell :/ There are much better performing, more affordable hair oils on the market, so this was a total dud for myself.
Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray: I was so excited to try this out, hoping it would be the miracle one step product for summer, beachy hair. I sprayed this generously over damp hair and let it air dry, but didn’t see much added definition to my natural waves. It had a pleasant coconut scent and definitely gave my hair texture, but it felt very heavy and weighed my hair down. I would not repurchase.
Have you tried any of these products? What are your July Empties? I would love to hear about your product recommendations so please leave a comment below 🙂

Mary Dee
