July Monthly Empties and Reviews
Howdy, y’all! Today we will be going over July’s Product Empties! You can find my Product Empties from June here. Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.
MAKEUP
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Mooning: This is my favorite Super Shock Shadow from Colourpop, ever. I love the creamy, pigmented, blendable, and longlasting formula of the Super Shock line, but what makes this my holy grail is the gorgeous shade. Mooning is my perfect, smokey warm brown eyeshadow for day-round, year-round looks. I reach for this shade constantly, so of course, I already have backups.
Essence Gel Waterproof Eye Pencil: I really enjoyed this pencil for the first couple months of usage. It was creamy, pitch black, glided easily onto my waterline, and self sharpening. Maybe I didn’t close the cap tightly enough, because it suddenly completely dried out, while I still got a ton of product to go. Such a waste 🙁 For that reason, I wouldn’t repurchase.
L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof Mascara: I love this cult fave mascara in both regular and waterproof versions. The mid-sized brush adds length and volume with each buildable coat for va-va-voom lashes. The formula is pitch black, dries quickly, and doesn’t smudge or irritate my eyes. I have a stash of mascaras to go through so I won’t be repurchasing, but I still give this product two thumbs up.
E.L.F. Makeup Mist & Set: I have gone through numerous bottles of these as this is my favorite drugstore makeup setting spray, ever! This mist extends the longevity of my makeup while smoothing out my skin when I’ve over-powdered. This is a repeat empties and I am sure this won’t be the last time you see it.
SKINCARE
Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum: I received a deluxe sample of this serum with one of my Mario Badescu hauls. I only use about four drops at a time at night, so this little bottle lasted me forever. I apply the serum after my essence and before my nighttime moisturizer. It feels very lightweight, absorbs quickly, and didn’t irritate my skin. However, I can’t tell if it has made a difference in lightening dark spots and acne scars, so I will not be repurchasing.
Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes: These wipes are so affordable, gently removes face makeup, and doesn’t leave a filmy residue on my skin. While it does not completely remove waterproof mascara, it never stings or irritates my eyes. These Costco wipes are still my favorite makeup remover wipes to date.
Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water: This was the first micellar water I’ve ever tested and I totally understand the obsession with cleansing waters. I like to use this on a cotton round to remove stubborn eye makeup, left over after my cleansing wipes. In the past, I’ve applied this all over my face and it takes off EVERYTHING, from foundation to waterproof mascara. This is a holy grail item that I will continue to repurchase.
BODYCARE
The Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose Body Butter: I love every scent I’ve tried from the The Body Shop’s Body Butters, but Atlas Mountain Rose is my top favorite, ever. It truly smells like freshly picked roses, which is absolutely divine, if you love the scent of roses like I do. The rich cream is a welcome drink of moisture, which absorbs quickly and leaves the lingering scent. I don’t ever want to be without this scent.
C. Booth Egyptian Argan Oil Body Butter: This body butter has a baby powder fragrance, which isn’t my favorite, but the thick formula is very creamy and leaves skin noticeably moisturized. I really enjoyed the formula, so I would love to try this again, but in a different scent.
HAIRCARE
Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut Oil & Shea Butter: I received this in an old Ipsy, which introduced me to the Marc Anthony brand. The oil added shine, improved the manageability of my hair as it air-dried, and didn’t weigh it down. I typically love coconut-scented products, but this smells rather heavy and artificial than fresh coconuts. I will not be investing in a full-sized.
L’Oreal EverPure Moisturizing Shampoo: I’ve been in love with the Ever Pure line ever since I received it in an L’Oreal Influenster box years ago. I enjoy the herbal scent and the sulfate free formula lathers up nicely while prolonging my haircolor.
L’Oreal EverPure Moisturizing Conditioner: After I’ve rinsed out the shampoo from the same line, I add a generous amount of this conditioner to the ends of my hair. It instantly detangles, smooths, and leaves my hair feeling moisturized, without being weighed down. I am testing out some salon brand haircare at the moment, but I still love the EverPure line and would recommend it in a heartbeat.

I’m so impressed that you actually managed to finish an entire shock shadow hahaha 😀 I’m so bad at finishing makeup products myself, but skincare and body products I use up like that. The Bodyshop body butters are always a winner in my book. They always smell look and leave the skin moisturized and soft.

Haha! Seriously, it was no easy feat to finish an entire shadow so I know I love that shade 😀 I’m totally the same way, I go through way too much lotion a month 🙈
