June Monthly Favorites and Reviews
Happy Hump Days, loves! ? I hope you are having a great week so far. Today we will be going over June’s Monthly Favorites! This is another series on my blog that I’m aiming to do every month in conjunction with the Monthly Empties 😉 These will include everything, ranging from makeup products, to haircare, and even fashion items. Essentially it will be all the products that I’ve used throughout the previous month and couldn’t put down. Now, let’s dive into our first Monthly Favorites post! ?
MAKEUP
E.L.F. Lip Exfoliator in Grapefruit: This is an ELF Holy Grail product I keep repurchasing over and over again. I love the convenient lipstick bullet packaging of the lip scrub as opposed to standard jars where there is the hassle of scooping the product out with your fingers. The Grapefruit scent is so citrusy, uplifting, and energizing. It makes me happy everytime I use it ☺️RCMA No Color Powder: You can find an in-dept blogpost review of this powder here. But in short, this product is fabulous. The powder is so finely milled, extends the longevity of my makeup, gives an airbrushed finish, and doesn’t alter the color of my foundation. I love this for baking the undereye area and for setting my foundation all over.Illamasqua Precision Ink Eye Liner: The Wet n Wild H20 Proof Liquid Eyeliner has the best formula with a matte, black finish that is ultra long lasting. However, its plastic tip applicator doesn’t create the sharpest wing that I desire. Enter this Illamasqua Liner with the fine felt tip. I love using this to create the sharp wing, then lining the rest of my eyes with the Wet n Wild Liner. The combo of the two liners are bomb ? Makeup Revolution Ultra Eye Contour Light & Shade Eyeshadow Palette: I used this eyeshadow palette everyday for a solid 2 weeks after I picked it up from Ulta. An in-dept review of it is coming soon 😉 I love the pigmentation of these matte shades and the color selection. They make it so easy to throw together an easy smokey eye and you have all the transition shades you would ever need.MAC Pro Longwear Concealer: I rediscovered this amazing concealer after using it for my brother’s wedding. I love this waaaay more than the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (shocker, I know). This provides true full coverage. A little goes a long way while this covers the darkest circles and brightens the undereye at the same time. It is so good! Why do I not use this more often?!Essence Cosmetics Lash Princess Mascara: I like the narrow brush which helps grab those small lashes in the inner/outer corners. The formula is jet-black and quickly builds volume and length to your lashes. As an added bonus, this doll-like package is so pretty!Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in #14: This is one of my favorite nude lipsticks ever. The formula is so creamy and glides on the lips like a dream. It doesn’t last very long, but it feels so comfortable on that I don’t mind reapplying throughout the day. #14 is a gorgeous pinky-nude that looks amazing with smokey eyes, but never washes me out, even when I have a tan. I have not put this down since I rediscovered this in my makeup arsenal.
BODYCARE
The Body Shop Body Butter in Sweet Lemon: I rub this all over my body after my nightly showers to lock in moisture. The consistency is thick, but absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t feel heavy on at all. The lemon scent is heavenly ? It is citrusy with a hint of sweetness. Love this!
HAIRCARE
Clairol Shimmer Lights Purple Shampoo: My natural hair is dark brown/ black so it easily pulls red tones, especially since I got highlights. I picked this up from Sally’s Beauty after reading that purple shampoos tone down brassiness in hair. I was skeptical of this product’s claims, but leaving this in my hair for about 5-10 minutes really does make a huge difference in keeping my highlights cool-toned in between color touch-ups. My only gripes with this shampoo is that it has a very strong mature scent and feels drying. To combat the dryness, I try to limit washing to every other day and I follow up with a deep conditioner.
FASHION
Boohoo Co-Ord Sets: Boohoo is my current favorite online clothing retailer. They’re based in the UK, but I love their trendy styles at affordable prices. I decided to try the matching separates trend this season and was surprised at how much I love this red co-ord set. The pattern is so bright and fun for summer, while being flowy and airy. So cute!
Whew! We made it through the first Monthly Favorites in this new series ? Thank you so much for reading and hope to see you in my next blogpost!
