Klairs Fundamental Water Gel Cream Korean Skincare Review

Klairs’ is a hugely popular Korean skincare brand whose philosophy lies in creating gentle, cruelty free, and high quality, yet affordable products. Now that is a philosophy I can stand behind! It also happens to be one of Wishtrend‘s in-house brands and a cult favorite amongst Korean skincare enthusiasts. They were kind enough to send me the newest addition to their line, the Klairs Fundamental Water Gel Cream, so today, I wanted to share with you my final review.

This gel-cream is a moisturizer with a gel-type texture. As Klairs Fundamental Line, it provides the fulfills the ‘basics’ in your moisturizing skincare. It contains Jeju Green Tea Water and Panthenol to provide moisture and deep hydration with a light finish. Recommended for all skins and seasons (wishtrend.com).As a reference, my skin type is very dry, with hyperpigmentation leftover from acne scars.  Improving texture and tone while maintaining hydration has always been my biggest skin concerns.This water gel cream comes in a minimalistic plastic jar that includes a small spatula for hygienic purposes. To be honest, because of its liquidy consistency, I don’t love the packaging as it can get messy if the jar is not kept upright at all times.There is no scent, as far as I can detect. “Water Gel Cream” describes this texture spot on. It has a runny, yogurt-like viscosity that feels ultra lightweight on the skin. You do have to work the product into your skin a bit for it to fully absorb. I’ve found it stays somewhat tacky on the skin, which I personally don’t mind, as it gives a glossy finish and glass skin effect.I have but one caveat. I’ve found my makeup does not sit very well on top, which I’ve encountered everytime I’ve tested this during the daytime. For that reason, I would only wear this moisturizer on days I will be going makeup free and as a part of my nighttime skincare routine. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a lightweight summertime moisturizer, especially those with oily skin types, as it provides simple, straightforward hydration.  Overall, I enjoy this water gel cream, but it has not cracked my list of top favorite moisturizers, as I just prefer thicker creams for my very dry skin. If you are interested in picking up this product, you can use the code SEP10 all throughout the month of September for 10% your entire order at Wishtrend!
