Klairs Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil Korean Skincare Review

If you’ve been following my skincare journey here on the blog or on Instagram, I’m sure you’d know by now that I have been loving the Klairs brand so much lately. Their products are high quality and just work fantastically well with my skin type. Wishtrend was kind enough to send me the newest addition to their line, the Klairs Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil, so today, I wanted to share a quick review.

This cleansing oil is made with natural oils extracted from Black Bean effective in oil control and skin soothing, Black Sesame with antioxidant ingredients and Black Currant Seed rich in minerals and vitamins. Provides gentle deep cleansing without irritating the most sensitive skin (wishtrend.com).This oil comes in a sleek pump packaging, which allows for precise control and dispenses just the right amount of product. I’ve found that two pumps is plenty to remove all my makeup.Prior to trying the 2NDesign First Cleansing Oil (blogpost here) recently, I had a serious prejudice against cleansing oils. My preferred method of makeup removal, and the first step in my double cleansing process, has always been a cotton pad soaked with micellar water. I have always been put off by cleansing oils because the concept of rubbing my fingers against a face full of makeup makes me want to gag. I wanted absolutely nothing to do with them. But my positive experience with the Cleansing Oil softened my demeanor and now I am much more open to trying more cleansing oils and balms. The directions are simple and straight forward: dispense an appropriate amount on dry palms, cleanse the skin by gently massaging in a rolling motion, and rinse off with warm water. Seems easy enough right? Here we go!I put this cleansing oil to the test with a full face of makeup. The application process…is not a pretty look, but we must power through!I massaged 2 pumps onto dry skin in circular motions for around 30 seconds to dissolve makeup, emulsified with a little water, and then gently massaged for another 30 seconds before rinsing thoroughly with water. My complexion products were a breeze to remove, but as usual, I had to spend a little extra time gently massaging the oil around my eyes to break down stubborn waterproof eyeliner and mascara.In the end, what makes this oil standout to me is how well it cleansed my skin. I am so impressed by how much waterproof makeup it removed, all without leaving a dreaded oily film over my eyes. No raccoon eyes here! It also rinses completely clean and left my face feeling soft, though not particularly hydrated, as I have found with other cleansing oils. This doesn’t bother me too much, as I always follow immediately with a second step cleanser, but I wanted to make note of that. If you are in the market for a new cleansing oil, I recommend giving this Klairs one a try.
