Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop Korean Skincare Review

If you’ve been following my skincare journey here on the blog or on Instagram, I’m sure you’d know by now that Klairs is one of my top favorite skincare brands. They are one of Wishtrend‘s in-house brands and a cult favorite amongst Korean skincare enthusiasts. Wishtrend was kind enough to send me the instantly recognizable Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop, so today, I wanted to share with you my review.

This night serum reduces fine lines and wrinkles using a dual peptide formula strengthened by EGF (sh-Oligopeptide-1) and bFGF (sh-Polypeptide-1). Ten ingredients fight and prevent aging to maintain youthful-looking skin (wishtrend.com). Buy here.In terms of packaging, I find the opaque black glass bottle so chic and gorgeous. I believe the dark glass also helps maintain the efficacy of its highly concentrated ingredients. The dropper portions out just the right amount of product, which for myself is between 4 to 5 drops. Let’s address the obvious. This blue color is absolutely stunning and just takes it to the next level. I am still mesmerized by it every time. According to Wishtrend, the blue color comes from the ingredient Guaiazulene. I honestly want all my skincare to be blue now.There is no scent or fragrance, as far as I can detect. This is a true watery serum, with no viscosity, whatsoever. For that reason, I have to be extra careful in applying the runny drops immediately to my face and patting it in for quickly to ensure none of the precious liquid goes to waste. You can see the blue color initially upon application, but it dries clear and does not stain the skin, whatsoever. It absorbs almost instantly into the skin, making me wonder most of the time if I had applied enough product, but I try to stick to 4 to 5 drops.I pat these drops all over my face and neck as a part of my nighttime skincare routine, after my essences, and before my heavier serums and moisturizer.As a reference, my skin type is very dry, with hyperpigmentation leftover from acne scars. This anti-aging serum claims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I personally cannot vouch for these claims, as I am fortunate to not battle wrinkles yet. My biggest skin concerns are improving texture and tone while maintaining hydration. In that aspect, I have not seen a notable effect on brightening skin tone or reducing hyperpigmentation after incorporating these drops. But is it truly fair to hold that against the product if its target is anti-aging? Perhaps, this serum was just not suited for my personal needs.From my personal experience, if you are expecting dramatic results overnight, you will be disappointed. Instead, this is meant to be used long term to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. The gentle formula does not cause any stinging or irritation, so it would work on a range of skin types from dry and sensitive to combo/oily. I will happily finish this bottle and update should I see different results by the last drop. Until then, I enjoy this serum as a supplemental step in my nighttime skincare routine, but likely will not repurchase. Buy here.
