Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter Review and Swatches

Howdy, y’all!  Today, I’m bringing you a review of the Maybelline Face Studio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighters!  I picked up these powders about two months ago in an Ulta Haul, then packed them with me on my three week trip, so I’ve had plenty of time to test them out.  Please read on to see my thoughts on how they performed 💛What it is: Now, skin heats up with a warm metallic sheen. Buy here.Packaging:  I like the round compact with the clear lid so you can quickly and easily identify the shade inside.  It reminds me of the Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighters (review here) in the square compact, although this Maybelline packaging is much better quality.  Despite doing some extensive traveling with these in my makeup bag, the clasp stayed firmly closed and I never had any issues with it flipping open.  As an added bonus, how chic and pretty is this geometric imprint? 😍Formula:  These highlighting powders are so creamy, they feel like butter to the touch.  The formula is intensely pigmented, so I recommend using a light hand if you prefer a more natural highlight or don’t want to emphasize texture.  Lately, I’ve been favoring a strong highlight so I like using a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush to apply a wash on the cheekbones and right above the brows.  I rocked these nonstop during my beach days in Punta Cana and loved how the shimmer caught the light of the sun.  Also, did I mention how these highlighters lasted all day through swimming, heat, and humidity?! 👌Color:  I picked up two shades: Molten Gold and Molten Rose Gold.  Molten Gold is the classic…well, warm gold shade, while Molten Rose Gold is a cooler-toned pink champagne.  Initially, I thought Molten Rose Gold would look too ashy with my golden-tanned skintone, but I found both shades to be very flattering.  I’m hard-pressed to pick a favorite of the two, but if I had to, Molten Rose Gold wins by a smidge because of its more unique undertones.
