Maybelline Master Strobing Illuminating Highlighters Review
Happy Friday, y’all! The weekend is almost here! 🙂 Today, I’m bringing you a quick review of the Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid and Strobing Stick! The holographic packaging totally caught my eye at Ulta so they had to come home with me. I haven’t heard much about these so I was excited to put these to the test.
Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating HighlighterWhat it is: Discover the illuminating strobe effect with Maybelline’s FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter. Now, in a micro-pearl liquid formula for all-over highlighting! Strobe to add glow and to create the look of skin that appears radiant as if lit from within (ulta.com).
Price: $9.99, 0.67 fl oz (ulta.com)
Swatches:Review: If you are on the fair side, you could check out their Light/Iridescent shade. I picked up Medium/ Nude Glow for myself. This golden shade looks ultra bronze and pigmented initially, but blends in much lighter on the cheeks. You gotta work fast blending it in though because it doesn’t budge once it sets. I personally prefer a lighter touch for a dewy look on the highpoints of the face, but you can really pack it on for extra glow. A little goes a long way, so this bottle would last forever. Rating: 8/10 stars.
Master Strobing Stick Illuminating HighlighterWhat it is: Maybelline’s FaceStudio Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter adds dimension and enhances features. The lightweight, creamy texture and micro-fine pearls combine to boost skin glow for a targeted highlight. Easy application – just swipe and blend! (ulta.com)
Price: $8.99, 0.24 fl oz (ulta.com)
Swatches:Review: The Medium/Nude Glow shade is a very flattering champagne shade that adds a subtle touch of dewy glow on the highpoints of the face. If you are looking for Wa-Bam highlight, I would recommend the Liquid version and then pack it on. This is definitely more on the subtle side. The stick formula is very creamy and blendable, reminding me of the Benefit Watts Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter. Additionally, I dig the cute, travel friendly packaging. They also offer this in a light/iridescent shade. Rating: 7/10 stars
Final Thoughts: While I like both these products, they won’t be replacing my favorite highlighters. I really enjoy the quality of the products for the affordable price point and super cute holographic packaging. However, I personally prefer the convenience and quick application of powder formulas. If you are a big collector of highlighters, there is a place for these Maybelline Strobing Illuminators in your collection. If not, I don’t believe you’re missing out terribly by passing these along.
Have you tried these Maybelline Strobing Illuminating Highlighters? What are your thoughts on the formula? 🙂
XOXO,
Mary Dee
