Morphe x Jaclyn Hill The Vault Armed and Gorgeous Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches
Admittedly, I initially had little interest in the release of the Morphe and Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection. I really enjoyed the original Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette (full review here), so I didn’t think I needed to add a sequel to my collection. But of course, after seeing so many more promos and its availability at Ulta, I caved and ordered it anyways 🙈 I’ve had this palette for about two months to formulate my final thoughts and the following reflects my personal experience. What it is: Lay on the gilt with these 10 glitzed-out eyeshadows that are packing some serious heat. Jaclyn Hill is giving you the code to a killer vault where she’s stashed some of her top-secret shades with this badass Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Armed & Gorgeous Eyeshadow Palette. JACpot! (ulta.com).Price: $15, 0.56 oz (ulta.com)Packaging: This packaging is so chic and beautiful. Honestly, pictures don’t do it justice. I can tell that Morphe/ Jaclyn Hill took the constructive criticism from the original palette to improve upon the Vault Collection. The palette is super sleek, compact, and sturdy. I’ve traveled with this to Thailand and never had issues with it opening up or being damaged in my luggage. I love that they included a nice sized mirror and the names are labeled directly below the shades, instead of on the back of the palette. A lot of thought and detail went into the packaging and I have zero complaints.I know there was quite a bit of controversy regarding the different versions of these palettes offered at Ulta vs the Morphe website. The back of my palette says “V5”, for whatever that’s worth.Formula: I didn’t know what to expect from these eyeshadows, but quite frankly, I love them. Both the matte and shimmers are buttery smooth, creamy, and gorgeously pigmented. They blend beautifully, without ever looking muddy on the eyes. The formula reminds me a lot of the original Jaclyn Hill Palette. The mattes are on the softer side, so there is a bit of kick up and fallout, but nothing unmanagable. The shimmer shades have a very creamy consistency, so there is no fallout or kickup. I love the intensity of the glittery shades, particularly when I pat it on the lids with my fingers.Color: Is this color scheme unique and innovative? Not really. Has it been done to death? Perhaps… but I will never tire of warm toned eyeshadows, so I’m still onboard! The collection of golds, oranges, and browns is absolutely stunning and so wearable! I appreciate the range of light to dark shades and the even selection of matte to shimmer shades. VIP, is a bit of an icy white, but you can make it work as a brow bone highlight. With this palette, you have everything from the highlight, to the matte transition shades, and lid colors to create complete eye looks. If I had to narrow down my picks, my favorite shades in the palette are Access (matte turmeric gold), Smooth Criminal (matte cognac), and Coin (glitzy gold sheen).Swatches in Natural Lighting: Overall Rating: I was very impressed with this Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Armed and Gorgeous Palette so I’m awarding it a rating of 10/10 stars! I love the high quality and performance of these eyeshadows. The color story and packaging is A+. Pricewise, I feel $15 for 10 shadows is a great value for the quality you’re getting. As a bonus, you can get the palette for even cheaper, when purchasing it in a bundle and/or stacking an Ulta coupon on top 😉 This is a gorgeous, cohesive palette with a stunning shade selection that I will happily be reaching for year round.
Have you tried this Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Armed and Gorgeous Palette? What are your thoughts on the Vault Collection?
