November Monthly Empties and Reviews
Hellooo, December! Who else has started counting down to Christmas?! I can’t wait! 😃 Today we will be going over the Product Empties from the month of November! Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.
MAKEUP
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: This mascara has a medium sized brush that built up a lot of volume, but I found the product dried out very quickly. After a couple uses, it became clumpy during application and weighed down my lashes. While I enjoyed this mascara, I would not repurchase as I found the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise is a more affordable dupe.
NYX HD Photogenic Concealer: This is one of my favorite concealers from the drugstore. It is creamy, blends beautifully, provides medium buildable to full coverage, and gives a flawless finish. As a bonus, it comes in a range of 22 shades so you can be sure to find your perfect shade. I already have backups of the shades Glow and Tan.
SKINCARE
Too Cool for School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack: I received this sleeping pack from Memebox back when they offered curated skincare boxes (bring those back! 🙏). This had a refreshing scent, absorbed quickly, and felt very lightweight. I enjoyed the light moisturization during the summer months, but would not repurchase as I prefer a heavier moisturizer at night.
My Signature C Source: I read online this Vitamin C Serum was good for fading acne scars and hyperpigmentation. It had a citrus scent, absorbed quickly, and slightly tingled upon application. I would not recommend if you have more sensitive skin as it could cause irritation. After finishing the entire bottle, I have not seen much of a difference in the brightening of my dark spots, so I will not be repurchasing.
KNC Beauty Lip Masks: I put this lip mask to the test after receiving it in November’s Boxycharm (blogpost here). The jelly texture had a cooling sensation, but once I removed the mask, I did not see any difference in my lip’s overall volume or moisture. I would not recommend or repurchase.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: It pains me to throw away so much unused product, but I’m certain this is far past its expectation date. I used this treatment every night back when I had severe acne. It tingled upon application, but helped reduce redness and shrank pimples overnight. I would not personally repurchase as my breakouts are no longer as severe (thank goodness!), but I wholly recommend this for those with acne prone skin.
Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strip: I received this sample in a Walmart Beauty Box (blogpost here) and finally got around to trying it. Is it just me or is it strangely satisfying to rip these off and see what it pulls out of your pores? It grosses me out and fascinates me at the same time 😅 These Pore Strips work very well for deep cleaning the nose and I highly recommend.
BODYCARE
Coppertone Kids AccuSpray Sunscreen SPF 50: I used up the majority of this bottle while I was in Jamaica. I liked the spray mist which provided quick and even application, the formula which was lightweight and absorbed quickly, and the high SPF protection. This kept me sunburn free so I give it two thumbs ups
The Body Shop Papaya Body Butter: The Body Shop makes the most delicious scented Body Butters. This smelled so yummy, just like papayas 😍 The formula was thick, but melted into the skin, and absorbed quickly. I loved this scent and would totally repurchase.
HAIRCARE
Clear Total Care Nourishing Daily Conditioner: I used the Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy line religiously when it first came out, and rediscovered this recently when I was looking for an extra nourishing conditioner. Last month, I started going to the gym everyday so I also started shampooing everyday. I know that’s terrible for your hair, but I can’t not wash my hair after the gym 😂 What makes these Clear Conditioners different than the typical hair conditioners is that you massage the product into the scalp instead of just the ends of your hair. Somehow, it doesn’t give me oily roots or hold my fine hair down. It just leaves my hair moisturized, frizz free, and more manageable. I would recommend and repurchase.
Schwarzkopf Diamond Color & Radiance Shampoo: I had the chance to put this sample to the test on a quick weekend trip. It smelled good, lathered nicely, and rinsed clean, but there was not much standout about the product. I will not be repurchasing a full sized.
NAILCARE
China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Icicle : It’s a rare occasion when I actually finish a nail polish, but I got a ton of mileage out of this silver shade. I generally enjoy China Glaze’s formula as their polishes apply opaque and dry fairly quickly. I liked this while it lasted, but would not repurchase as Wet n Wild makes a similar shade in their 1 Step Wondergel line at a more affordable price.
Have you tried any of these products? What are your November Empties? I would love to hear about your product recommendations so please leave a comment below 🙂
