Play! by Sephora June 2019 Unboxing and Review
Hi, dolls! Today, I’ll be reviewing June’s Play by Sephora! You can find my review of May’s box here. Play! is Sephora’s subscription service that provides 5 beauty samples plus 1 fragrance sample for $10/month (plus local taxes).
June’s theme is Destination Beauty and comes with 6 products. As usual, it includes an insert with product descriptions/ directions and a Play! Pass, redeemable in Sephora stores and online for 50 extra Beauty Insider points with any purchase.
- Tarte Foundcealer Foundation in Tan Neutral
The only thing that needs to work hard when you’re on PTO is your foundation – that’s why this multitasking formula is a first class favorite (insert). How did they know to color match me to my perfect foundation shade?! Thank you Sephora for coming through! 👏 I also give them props for including a deluxe sample size that will last a good amount of time. This foundation provides light, buildable to medium coverage with a satin, almost dewy finish. It is perfect for those natural makeup or even pool days. My dry skin loves this stuff!
- Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black
There’s a fine line between a wing and a cat eye – that’s why this marker-like tip is a stroke of genius (insert). I generally prefer a brush tip over these kinds of felt tip liquid liners. This feels a little stiff on the lids, so there is a learning curve with creating a sharp wing. However, the formula itself is pitch black, glides on smoothly, and lasts all day.
- Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla
When holidaying, use any excuse to sleep in a little longer, for instance: “My overnight lip mask needs more time to moisturize, wake me up in an hour” (insert). Can you believe this is my first time trying these cult favorite lip masks? This has a hydrating, non-waxy formula that actually provides moisture relief for dry, cracked lips. The vanilla scent is not sickeningly sweet, but reminds me of yummy Lucky Charms marshmallows 😍
- Biossance Squalane Tea Tree Detox Mask
Whether your trip is packed with excursions or is luxuriously itinerary free, there’s always time for a calming, softening face mask that draws out impurities (insert). This tea tree mask has a wonderful herbal scent that makes for a relaxing, spa-like experience. I didn’t love this as an all over face mask, as I didn’t see much of a difference in my skin after the treatment. However, I’m really enjoying this as an overnight, spot treatment for blemishes, which is another recommended use.
- Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb
Cannonball into hydration with an ultra lightweight, antioxidant rich moisturizer that feels like a pool party for your face (insert). This blue gel has a refreshing scent and feels lightweight, while providing a lot of moisture to the skin. The texture feels just like the typical Korean sleeping masks/ packs, if you’re familiar with that.
- Hum Hair Sweet Hair Gummies
One daily vitamin for you, one for your hair. This gum promotes healthy strands, plus it’s really tasty (insert). Ok, I am willing to overlook the lack of perfume samples this month, but only because y’all gave me candy 😉 I like taking all my vitamins in gummy form (don’t judge me!), so I was excited to try these out. Taste-wise, they’re yummy, but I don’t love the chewy, Mike-and-Ike-esque texture.Overall Rating: I’m pretty satisfied with June’s Sephora Play! Bag so I’m giving it a rating of 9/10 stars. I was excited about trying almost every single product in the box, which is saying a lot. The gummy vitamins were also a fun touch. My favorite picks of the batch are the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and Tarte Foundcealer Foundation.
What are your thoughts on the Sephora Play! Bag? Which products were you most excited to test out?
XO,
Mary Dee
