Rovectin Cica Care Korean Skincare Review: Toner, Balm, Sheet Masks

Rovectin is a Korean skincare brand that was originally developed for those with highly sensitive and vulnerable skin to help restore and rebuild the strength of the skin’s natural barrier. They specialize in “hypoallergenic products that safely and gently restore your skin deep down to its natural healthy state—helping you look and feel better inside and out”. Wishtrend was kind enough to send me their Rovectin Cica Care line, so today I wanted to share with you my review of these goodies!

Rovectin Cica Care Purifying Toner – Retail Price $24 – Buy here

This is a completely watery toner with no viscosity, whatsoever. The ingredients list emphasizes that no fragrances are added, so I’m assuming the light herbal scent comes from the natural ingredients. I personally find the mild scent comforting and pleasant. The watery consistency absorbs very quickly into the skin, adding a layer of moisture but no dewiness or tackiness. This doesn’t offer any additional properties other than cleansing the skin gently, which it does do very well. I saturate a cotton pad with this toner, sweep all over my face and neck, and it visibly removes impurities left over after the double cleansing method. Overall, I think this is fantastic if you are looking for an ultra gentle toner simply to balance the skin’s pH levels before applying your following skincare products. Overall rating: 8/10 stars. I quite enjoy the simplicity of the squeeze tube packaging, which is highly practical and travel friendly. This balm has the same natural scent as the purifying toner, though again, no fragrance was added. This has a pretty, light pink color which is likely from the active ingredient, calamine. It totally reminds me of the pink lotion my mom used to put on our mosquito bites. Does anybody else remember that? Anyhow, I find this ultra calming moisturizer feels very soothing on the skin, absorbs quickly, and dries down somewhat matte. I will happily finish up this tube. However, for someone with very dry skin like myself, I do not find it hydrating enough on its own.  I can see this being particularly favorable for those with oily/ combination skin types instead. Rovectin Dr. Mask Cica Sheet Masks – Retail Price $20 – Buy here

Let me tell you, the essence/serum in this sheet mask is thiiick. Think Snail Mucin Essence thick. The cotton mask is completely saturated with product, which I greatly appreciate. There is still a generous amount of essence/serum left over after the treatment, which as everyone knows, none of that yummy goodness goes to waste. The sheet mask fit my face like a glove and stayed on for 20 minutes with no issues. I honestly don’t expect overnight brightening results from any sheet mask. However, I applied this before bedtime after an exfoliating peel and woke up the next morning with visibly smoother and hydrated skin. If you are looking for soothing, calming sheet mask to replenish moisture and repair your skin barrier, look no further. Overall rating: 9/10 stars.
