Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches
The Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Collection is easily my favorite holiday release from Too Faced, and possibly any makeup brand, this year. I recently reviewed the Too Faced The Sweet Smell of Christmas Liquified Lipstick Set (blogpost here), which pairs beautifully with the Gingerbread Spice Palette. Although this palette is currently sold out, I enjoyed it so much I thought I’d share my review with you anyways, which can help you decide whether or not to pick this up when it comes back in stock.Price: $49, 0.43 oz (Buy here)What it is: Add a little spice to your life with this deliciously sweet gingerbread palette of 18 multi-finish warm and toasty shadows that glide on with buttery smoothness for playful pops of color that smell like fresh-baked gingerbread (toofaced.com).Packaging: The gingerbread designs on the packaging is totally adorable. This palette has the same shape, size, and sturdy plastic compact as the other Chocolate Bar Palettes. I’ve traveled with this to Thailand and never had issues with it opening up or being damaged in my luggage. I also appreciate that there is a mirror included and that the holiday-themed names are labeled directly below the shades. And yes, this palette is lightly gingerbread scented as well.Formula: I’m very impressed with the formula of both the matte and shimmer eyeshadows. They are wonderfully creamy, pigmented, and blend beautifully on the eyes, without looking muddy. There is a bit of kick up when dipping my brush into the matte shades, but nothing unmanagable. The only shade I had some difficulty working with is Frostbite Me!, which has a different formula than the rest. It is more of a pressed chunky white glitter, which is harder to blend out and causes some fallout.Color: More warm toned eyeshadows?! Gimme, gimme! I love the warm color selection with pops of berry and purple. I could wear these shades every single day. They did a great job including everything from the brow bone highlight, to the matte transition shades, and lid colors to create complete eye looks. I find myself always dipping into the warm terracottas, Gingerbread and Spice is Nice, for my everyday transition shades. My favorite shimmers in the palette are Warm & Toasty, a metallic mustard yellow, and Spice of Life, a bronze olive green.Swatches in Natural Lighting: Swatches with Camera Flash:Makeup Looks Using the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Palette:Overall Rating: I’m obsessed with the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Eyeshadow Palette so I’m awarding it a rating of 10/10 stars! I love everything from the fun holiday packaging to the stunning shade selection and excellent formula. This is my favorite eyeshadow palette release of the year and I believe it would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s makeup collection.
Have you tried the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Palette? What are your thoughts on the formula?
