Ulta Mini Haul and Reviews
Howdy, y’all! Today, I’m kickstarting the week with a quick review of the goodies from my recent Ulta Mini Haul! The hubby needed some new face wash, so I was very quick to suggest we hit up our local Ulta. Of course, once I stepped into the store, I couldn’t resist leaving with a little something something for moi 😉
LA Girl Pro Matte Foundation in Light Tan – Retail Price $8.99 (Buy here)
With a soft and suede-like finish, PRO.matte Foundation will have you covered and shine-free all day. Creamy, liquid formula provides smooth and buildable coverage for both day and night time wear. Minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines for an even, soft focus effect (lagirlusa.com). I’ll be dedicating an entire blogpost to this new foundation, so please stay tuned for that in-dept review. Spoiler alert: I am obsessed with this foundation 😍 I love everything from the chic glass packaging with the pump to the full coverage and beautiful matte finish. If you have oily skin or did not enjoy the illuminating finish of the original LA Girl Pro Coverage Foundation, I highly recommend giving this bad boy a try. Overall Rating: 10/10 stars.
LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil in Brunette – Retail Price $5.99 (Buy here)
L.A. Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil is the perfect way to get fuller, sculpted brows. Shape and fill brows with the retractable super skinny tip to create natural, hair-like strokes. Use the opposite end spoolie to brush and blend brow color for a finished look (ulta.com). I totally picked up this brow pencil because of Nicole Renee Cutler’s recommendation on YouTube. She raves about how this is the best dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz and I gotta say, it’s pretty identical. Brunette is a cool toned brown shade that works great with my coloring. The ultra slim tip makes it easy to draw precise strokes, while the spoolie blends the product out perfectly, and the formula lasts all day. This is a fabulous affordable alternative to the ABH Brow Whiz. Overall Rating: 10/10 stars.
Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Lash Extension Mascara – Retail Price $4.99 (Buy here)
The Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Lash Extension Mascara transfers the best hairstyling trends to your lashes. The special braided design of the cap has never been seen before. Enriched with lengthening fibers, this styling mascara provides an 18hr longlasting volume effect and ensures fully extended lashes. The fiber releasing brush has the perfect shape to reach even the smallest lashes (ulta.com). I’ve been disappointed by fiber mascaras in the past, as they either did nothing to plump up my lashes or I have fibers falling on my cheeks throughout the day. I gotta say, this is the best one I’ve tried thus far. I have short, stubby lashes that point straight down, so this mascara does not hold a curl unfortunately. However, the fibers that are distributed evenly with the slim brush really thicken and elongate the lashes. I even applied it on my bottom lashes and holy cow, I have never seen them so long. Yes, please! 😍 If you have non problematic lashes, this will give you crazy sky high lashes that will last until you remove it at the end of the night. Overall Rating: 9/10 stars.
Essence Waterproof Eyeliner Pen – Retail Price $2.99 (Buy here)
Essence Eye Liner Pen is a super fine waterproof eye liner. It is extremely long-lasting and offers great precision with a slim felt-tip applicator (ulta.com). Confession, I only picked up this eyeliner to reach the $15 requirement to use my Ulta coupon 🙊 This felt tip eyeliner pen is not quite as pitch black as my Wet n Wild H2O liquid liner, but it is really pigmented and glides on easily without tugging. The felt tip is slim enough to create a sharp wing and the formula dries to a matte finish that lasts all day. Overall Rating: 9/10 stars.Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts on them?

Mary Dee
