Wet n Wild Haul and Reviews
Happy Thursday, y’all! Today I’ll be reviewing the goodies from my recent Wet n Wild Haul! I’ve heard rave reviews about the Wet n Wild foundation, but could never find my shade at my local drugstores, which get cleaned out quick. When Wet n Wild had a 25% off sale on their website, I had to place an order for the foundation and then some 😉 Read on below to see my thoughts on these products and how they performed.
- Photo Focus Foundation in Desert Beige and Caramel – Retail Price $5.99Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection (wetnwildbeauty.com). This foundation comes in a standard glass bottle, but includes a spatula that helps with rationing and scooping out the liquid, preventing a mess from overpouring. I love that the wide shade selection (20 shades) includes a description of the undertones. I mix Desert Beige and Caramel as I get more tanned or paler, but both matched my warm undertones perfectly. The coverage is medium, but buildable. I’ve applied this with my EcoTools Beauty Sponge and a flat-top kabuki brush, and both gives a beautifully matte finish. I’ve put this foundation to the test during my trip to Arizona and this stood up to the 110+ degrees desert heat. The formula is fabulous ? Overall Rating: 10/10 stars.
- Photo Focus Concealer in Medium Peach and Medium Tawny– Retail Price $3.99Let your natural beauty shine with our selfie-tested creamy and luminous concealer. Tested to be white cast-free under seven different photo lighting conditions, this high coverage concealer allows only your best features to get noticed (wetnwildbeauty.com). The formula of this concealer is creamy, blendable, and gives medium coverage with a natural, satin finish. This doesn’t cake on me throughout the day after I’ve set it with the Photo Focus Face Powder or baked it with my RCMA No Color Powder (review here). I have not tried using this over blemishes, but it works wonderfully for brightening the undereye area. Like the name suggests, Medium Peach has slightly orange undertones while Medium Tawny has golden undertones. I like layering Tawny over a little bit of Peach for undereye color-correcting. Overall Rating: 10/10 stars.
- Coverall Primer – Retail Price $4.99This miraculous primer can be used all over your face to minimize the appearance of pores, fill in fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone, prevent your foundation from caking, and brighten your complexion for ultra-vibrant color that lasts all day (wetnwildbeauty.com). Initially, I expected this to have the same silicone-y feel as the clear Smashbox Foundation Primer, but this Coverall Primer is actually opaque and has the texture of a facial moisturizer. It provides an additional layer of moisture, while mattifying the skin and filling in my pores. I have used this under my Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream and the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation, and it prolonged their longevity while still looking good by the end of the night. This might be my new favorite drugstore primer. Overall Rating: 9/10 stars.
- Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Black and Plum – Retail Sale Price $1.99 This classic—a makeup artist, fan, and celebrity favorite—is formulated with high-definition pigment and a unique blend of polymers for a rich fluid formula that dries fast and stays put to subtly enhance or dramatically define. An easy-to-control flexible brush delivers a precise application (wetnwildbeauty.com). I adore the Wet n Wild H2O Proof Black Liquid Eyeliner, which has a pitch black formula that glides on the lids like a dream and lasts all day. Unfortunately, I was rather let down by these Mega Liners, which applied patchy on the lids (particularly, the purple shade) and would run/smear throughout the day when my eyes would naturally water. Although this is very affordable, for a couple bucks more, I would recommend sticking to the H2O formula. Overall Rating: 3/10 stars.
- Photo Focus Pressed Powder in Tan Beige and Dark Cafe – Retail Price $4.99Light-diffusing pigments give your skin a veil of silky natural looking perfection in photos and IRL. Wear it alone, on bare skin or over Photo Focus foundation for a flawless finish (wetnwildbeauty.com). These face powders are so soft to the touch, creamy, and ultra blendable. Tan Beige, the lighter shade, feels so lightweight that it can be used underneath the eyes to set concealer or all over to set foundation. I like applying Dark Cafe around the perimeter of the face as the most buttery, natural bronzer. I LOVE this powder. Overall Rating: 10/10 stars.
- MegaGlo Dual-Ended Contour Stick in Medium Tan – Retail Price $4.99This amazing highlighting and contouring stick is dual-ended for precise application to easily enhance your features. The contouring shade helps define and chisel while the highlighter illuminates your best features (wetnwildbeauty.com). Ever since the release of the hugely popular KKW Contour and Highlight Kits, I have been on a total highlighter/contour stick kick ? I had low expectations for this, assuming it would be chalky and hard to work with. I was pleasantly surprised to find this was very creamy and pigmented, while being very easy to blend into the skin for the most natural results. The contour shade is on the warmer side, but still neutral enough to make a natural nose contour while the lighter shade is my current favorite way to highlight the nose. This is the best dual-ended highlight/contour stick I’ve tried and you can’t beat the price. If I could recommend one improvement, it would be to expand the shade range to add deeper shades so everyone could enjoy this wonderful formula. Overall Rating: 9/10 stars.
Have you tried any of these Wet n Wild products? What are your favorite Wet n Wild products and recommendations?
XO,
Mary Dee
