What’s in My Travel Makeup Bag?
Last month, I was fortunate enough to travel for three weeks between California and Thailand. I’ll be dedicating a full travel blogpost to Phuket in the near future 😉 In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to share with you what was in my Travel Makeup Bag! Full disclosure, I packed way more makeup with me just to cover my bases, but the following products were the ones I actually reached for almost everyday. Over the years, I’ve tried hard to reduce how much I pack down to the essentials, but with options to play. I was so impressed with how this Makeup Organizer Case from Amazon performed on the road and can’t recommend it enough. You can find my full review of the Travel Case here or check it out directly on Amazon here. I love the pouch for my makeup brushes and adjustable compartments to keep everything organized.
LIPPIES
Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner in Bare to Comment and Never Petal Down: When I’m traveling, I don’t want to worry about sharpening my lip pencils. These retractable ones are great for that. They come in a wide range of colors and the formula is so creamy and long-lasting.Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in Sugar Cookie: The holiday packaging is so darn cute. I love the pinky nude shade, which is pale, but not so pale that it washes me out. The formula is lightweight and long-lasting, without being drying.
EYES
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette: I dedicated an entire blogpost review to this palette, complete with swatches, which you can find here. In short, I love that this palette has all the colors and finishes I needed for a complete eye look.Essence Super Precise Eyeliner: The name says it all. This eyeliner has a very fine brush tip that makes it a breeze to quickly create a sharp wing. The formula is not entirely waterproof, but lasts a good amount of time.Wet n Wild H2O Proof Liquid Liner: Which brings me to this next product. I dislike the bulky felt tip of this Wet n Wild Liner, but the formula is pitch black and does not budge through sun, sweat, and whatever else you want to throw at it. I use the Essence Liner first to create my outer wing, then I line the rest of my eyes with this WnW Liner and it stays put all day long.Tarte Maneater Eyeliner: The formula is so creamy, pitch black, and lasts a decent amount of time in the waterline. As a bonus, the liner is super convenient and travel friendly, as it is self sharpening.Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara and the Covergirl The Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara: This was my go-to mascara combo. Two coats of the Essence Mascara sealed with a coat of the Covergirl Waterproof Mascara yields voluminous budge-proof, smudge-proof lashes.
FACE
Colourpop No Filter Concealers: I can’t rave enough about this concealer. The formula gives me medium/buildable to full coverage, blends out beautifully, and holds up through humidity, sweating, and swimming. I will note, though, that this concealer oxidizes quite a bit. If you are looking to brighten the undereye area, I recommend going 1-2 shades lighter than you normally would.Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream: This is still my favorite BB cream of all time. I wear this on days I’m not wearing foundation, which are most days. It gives great coverage while providing sun protection and skin benefits, such as lightening my dark spots. It never clogs my pores and I genuinely feel my skin looks better after I’ve used it during the day. NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation: I dedicated an entire blogpost review to this foundation, which you can find here. In short, this has become one of my favorite foundations of the year. I love the lightweight, yet long-lasting formula and airbrushed coverage. With a healthy dose of powder and setting spray, this foundation is bulletproof.Wet n Wild Powder in Tan Beige: This face powder is soft to the touch, creamy, and ultra blendable. It feels so lightweight on the skin and can be used underneath the eyes to set concealer and all over to set foundation.Milani Baked Bronzer in Soleil: The powder is so finely milled, pigmented, buttery smooth, and blends like a dream. Soleil is a peachy terracotta shade with gold shimmer throughout, which adds a soft glow on its own. I love how it does triple duty as a bronzer, highlighter, and blush, all in one.Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter in Molten Rose Gold: You can find my dedicated blogpost review of these highlighters here. I adore the creamy, long-lasting formula and stunning rose gold shade. The powder is beautifully pigmented and will give your skin that gorgeous reflective sheen you desire. Do not pass on getting your hands on this highlighter.Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Conceited: This loose highlighter powder is intensely pigmented, yet so finely milled. The champagne shade is stunning and flattering on a wide range of skintones. I love the sheen it gives my cheekbones and how much it brightens the inner corners of my eyes.ELF Makeup Mist & Set: Last, but certainly not least, this is my all time favorite drugstore makeup setting spray. I spray this liberally after every makeup application and it melts all powder products into the skin for a seamless look that really lasts. This is my secret to keeping my makeup from melting off entirely throughout the day. I have gone through numerous bottles of these and will continue buying them over and over again.
Do you spot any of your favorite makeup products? What would we find in your travel makeup bag? I would love to hear the products you can’t travel without!

Mary Dee
